We have ressies at Candy Cane Inn..but have been considering some new resorts........the Anabella and the Portofino.... any thoughts....

we are considering the Hilton too....cheap....and we have stayed there a lot.

Ps....DL hotels too expensive.......all the others are $100 per night or less....thanks....

forgot to say....we have stayed at the Tropicana, Park Place Inn, Sheraton, Marriott, Hilton, Anaheim resort something (used to be Inn at the Park) so.........

unless Tropicana or Park Place have remodeled in the last couple years....don't really want to stay at those........thanks !!!!!!

Sorry I don't have experience at the ones you are considering but I have stayed at the Candy Cane many times and we love it.

Oops! I have stayed at the Hilton. Our flight got cancelled one night and they put us up there. It was nice but it didn't have a Disney feel to me. I still prefer the Candy Cane to the Hilton for Disney. Now if I was looking for frequent room service, a health club, etc. then I'd pick the Hilton.

thats good to hear because we were not sure between the Hilton and the Candy Cane.....only $7 difference in nightly price.......but we have stayed at the Hilton a couple times and it is beautiful and all....but the Candy Cane seems so quaint........

plus the parking is free.....Hilton is some ridiculous amt....$14 a night or something (can't remember....but we paid it....

We spent one nt. at the Hilton-Orange. Not walking distance to DL and no Disney feel, but an excellent hotel w/ a good value. We had a Family suite/corner rm. Two double beds in a separate BD w/ TV, living rm w/ pull-out couch & another TV. Kitchen w/ micro, fridge. Huge bathroom. Free parking and free cooked-to-order breakfast.

Candy Cane is great. The have their own shuttle as well (not a service)

Nice rooms, quick walk to the park (although the shuttle is regular as well)
Nice buffet in morning

Another vote for the Candy Cane Inn. DH and I were there in May and loved the place. It felt like being at the Caribbean Beach Resort in WDW. Breakfast was just enough, bus service was excellent, and it is just a short walk to the parks. I haven't stayed at any of the other hotels you mentioned but if I ever make it back to DL, I will be staying at the Candy Cane Inn! Have a great trip! :D

thanks everyone......as you can see from all my other posts....
I am a planning fanatic........aren't we all.........

I also would stay at the Candy Cane. Have you ever stayed at Howard Johnson's? It continues to be my favorite place. I enjoyed my stays at the Candy Cane in the past. We will be staying at the Park Place Inn this time (our second time around there) and enjoyed our previous stay. I like staying on the Harbor Blvd. side near the pedestrian entrance. I prefer walking back at the end of the day.

we stayed at Fairfield Inn...its like right next to Candy Cane Inn and we stay for free b/c we get gift certificate from reward programs.
