Hi all,
I've just got engaged to my very own prince charming in the shadow of the castle on Christmas day. WDW has so many romantic memories for me so I would love to seal my love at Disney, Florida. Travelling from the UK I will only have a handful of guests so the intimate package looks ideal. My only real request is to have Donald & Chip n Dale as guests for the toast.

Not having the luxury of being able to go to the Disney wedding Co-ordinators I was wondering how fellow Brits have found choosing flowers and cakes etc from just seeing the Disney DVD and website. Is there some secret brochure that I haven't managed to find?

Do the wedding co-ordinators do call backs to the UK?

And the big question - Should Donald where his sailor suit?

i'm getting married in november, i'm from the uk too. first bit of advice, go into a travel agent and get either the virgin weddings brochure or the thomas cook signature one. they both have intimate disney wedding packages. i've booked through virgin and have got the wedding pavilion ceremony with the grand floridian cake/champage reception, flowers for me and gary, 4 hours limo, 12 photos and photo cd (can order more), violinist and organist for the ceremony and reception, 2 tier wedding cake, keepsake mickey and minnie cake topper, keepsake watches, for £1685. it seems like a lot but apparently the average UK wedding now costs £17000.
you can get extras on top of the package if you want to pay extra, eg: one character costs approx $600 (with the price going down per character if you have more than one), extra photos, extra flowers, bridal portrait sessions, make up and hair, basically anything disney does can be added on.
you're allowed up to 8 guests on intimate packages but for an extra £320 (virgin price) you can have an extra 5 more.
if you have extras, its advised to book them as soon as possible
one thing about intimate packages though, is that cos they are packages, the co-ordinators are only assigned to you at the very last minute (true for Uk brides, not sure about US brides)
i've chosen my flowers from the disney website, the ones on there are standard choices for the intimate packages but if you want special/bespoke ones, they cost extra. ive gone for the nixed colour french bouquet. as for the cake, it is just a standard intimate cake (you can again choose a different one for extra money but they normally are for 50 guests minimum) but you can choose the type of cake (4 types) and choice of fillings (6 types)
think donald would look best in his sailor suit!! we're booked mickey in formal attire but think donald would look wierd in a tuxedo!!!

ive got as much info on the intimate weddings as i could find so if you need any help, feel free to email me, i'd be happy to help!!! address is karenangelatan@lycos.co.uk

hope ive been of some help!!!
congrats!!!

Hi Button,

I'm also getting married at disney from the UK. If you give disney a call they may be able to assign you a co-ordinator sooner that could answer your questions via email.I'm having a custom wedding ( my partner has a large family so we just missed out on the intimate numbers) and have a sales manager at the moment. www.yourfairytale.com has lots of advice for intimate weddings, location photos and even an old copy of the planning packet you get.

Congratualtions on your engagement!

i'm not from britain but i didn't go to any of the planning sessions for financial reasons. disney will send you, either by email or through mail, pictures of everything you need to plan your wedding. so, don't worry about that. as time goes on in the middle of your planning, you'll be dealing with many different coordinators who will be willing to send you whatever kind of information and pictures that you need. that's what they're there for. congratulations and good luck!

That's a good price your paying, £1,685. That's cheaper than booking direct with disney, Which is $4,000. Which works out at around £2,100. Something for us UK brides to be aware of.

Thanks for the info

Sam

Many intimate brides don't meet with their EM's. You can customize your intimate also, I had different flowers, I gave my EM a picture of what I wanted and they made it (there was a fee). You can also go with an outside vendor for photography to get many more pictures. I used Randy Chapman and got 180 pictures that came out fantastic. Good luck planning your wedding, it's so much fun.

The package that was through Virgin sounds like an Intimate add on package...I think that's its $3200 (approx) for WP and cheaper at the other locations.
