Hi I'm a total newbie and the DLP website is causing me some headaches...

I will be heading to DLP in early June with another adult (friend) and our 3 daughters ages 4, 5 and 6 (one is my daughter and she has two daughters). We will likely be driving - she lives in Germany near the France border.
Well we would like to book a hotel at DLP for 5 (2 adults and 3 kids), but the website does not seem to accept more than 4 people per room. So here are my quesitons:
What hotel do you recommend for us (mid-budget; not economy, not the ritz)? and
Can I book a hotel for 5 on the DLP website?

Also - when the hotel price 'includes tickets' - what does that mean? tickets to what? the parks?

I will problaby have MANY, MANY more questions... so I REALLY look forward to being a part of this discussion board!

Thanks in advance!

I have heard of family rooms, but it seems they can only be booked per phone.

And yes, Disneyland hotels include ticket to both parks for your whole stay time.

I'm a newbie first time going to DLP too :dance3:

You can ask for ajoining rooms in any hotel as far as i know but the DLH (ritziest) does family rooms (sleeps 5) and definately one other hotel but its not coming to be at the min :confused3 so i would say have a look at the Hotels FAQ threads, they should give you all the details.

The price you see on the DLP website is including park tickets (both parks). Theres shuttle buses from the two hotels that lie the furthest away (Santa Fe and Cheyenne which are the two budget ones - but saying this the beds in the SF are amazingly comfy and the theming in the Cheyenne is hands down the best in most DISers opinion i think)

The Sequoia Lodge and Newport hotels would be more mid range and are a 5 minute walk thru Disney Village (like downtown disney). They are situated on Lake Disney. As is the Hotel New York (also includes hot breakfast) which is higher end of the budget scale, surpassed only by the Disneyland Hotel which over looks the park and is waaaaaaaaaaaay out of my budget :sad1:

Hi Tesser26,
Elaine, Jackie, Elaine and Reid welcome you to the DLP DIS board :goodvibes

We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here

DIS posting guidelines can be found here

mid-range onsite hotels at DLP are the Sequoia Lodge, Newport Bay Club, and Hotel New York. The Newport Bay Club has family rooms for 5, but I think you have to call Disney to get a price for that. All the onsite hotels have interconnecting rooms if 2 rooms would suit you better (this can be cheaper than a family room also).
Park hopper tickets are included for the length of your stay for each member of your group when you book a hotel on the official Disneyland Paris website or over the phone with their booking agents.

If you are driving there another option is the Davy Crocket Ranch - look at the pictures on the Hotel sticky. You do need a car to get to the parks from here though as there is no shuttle bus

Another option is the Explorers hotel which has rooms for 4 and then you can add a 'crew room' which is for another 2 people- this will be joined on. This sint a disney hotel so you wont get EMH (early entrance to the parks) but is very close and has a shuttle to the parks

Thanks for the welcome DLPdaft.

And thanks for the recommendations.

Just wondering - do any of the hotels allow you to put 5 people in a room for 4, i.e. pay for the 5th and get a cot in the room. Has anyone done this?

They only allow 5 if the 5th person is under 3 years old. There are however some family rooms as mentioned at DLH and Newport Bay and I think New York as well but these often work out quite expensive
