Hello everyone,
We travelled to WDW in August and had a fantastic time. My children 5 and 8 LOVED the rides - the faster the better for them. I would love to take them to Universal ( we have never been )for a short ( 3 day ) stay - where is the best place to look for hotel prices / deals, transfers and general part info?

I would ALWAYS recommend to stay on site. (i.e. Portofino Bay Resort, Hard Rock Resort, or Royal Pacific). If you stay on site, your room key is for lack of a better term, a "fast pass" for all rides. You will bypass the regular lines and get onto rides many times faster! :cool1: It is definitely more expensive to stay on site, the the rewards are PRICELESS! :thumbsup2

If you can afford it, I recommend on-site.

We went to Uni with our kids (7 & 5) and stayed at Royal Pacific. It was so nice to be able to just walk back to the hotel for a nap, or whatever during the day.

I will echo the first two posters. Onsite is awesome if within your budget. Often there are AAA discounts available and the hotels sometimes offer supersaver rates which require a 3 night stay, I believe. You can also get a discount if you have an AP. It's often worth it to purchase one AP for someone in your party. It can pay for itself with discounts for the room and for food and merch. RPR is the cheapest, usually, then HRH and then PBH.

I've never stayed off site but know there are quite a few in the general vicinity. FOTL (acronym for front of the line access--not truly FRONT, but gets you in the express pass lane as often as you like) is the real kicker for us. It is just sooooo nice to skip those long lines. Plus, the hotels are beautiful...all deluxes.

Good luck with your search. Uni Rocks!!

If you can't afford to stay onsite-there are quite a few nice but affordable hotels on Major (Dr or Blvd??) Super easy to get to Universal parking and back to your hotel. Technically could walk but it would be 1/2 to 1 mile of walking on top of all the walking in the park and I wouldn't do it. We have also used a taxi-figure around $8 each way. Depending of car rental costs this may or may not be worth it. Got a car last time for $80/week-rental may be the way to go.

Onsite would be most convenient but it can cost alot.

Also they are selling tickets online for around $95.00-both parks for multiple days. You can buy now and use them when you go.

Your kids will love US and IOA. Have a great time.
