:goodvibes Yep, more questions from me :goodvibes

So my kids have never really been on "roller coasters" so I wondered a good place to start. at first I was thinking start @ DCA on the 5th or late on the 4th after we check in and rest.

Or we could start in DL and use our TTMM on the 5th...

I don't know its all so confusing. We will be there early on the 4th until afternoon on the 8th (march) and are staying at the tropicana. :yay:

where did you start....to break the kids in gently haha!! :scared:

So many thoughts, forgive me if I ramble.I dont know that I would start the trip at DCA. We always love to start by entering main street and going under the train tracks, through the tunnel. There is just something so special about walking in and seeing the castle at the end of main street. Also, DCA tends to close early, and you probably wouldnt have long in the park if you got a late start on the day. On the flip side of that, if you get to DL late in the day, the lines will be long and that isnt exactly the best start to a trip either.

As for rides and starting them out gentle- Fantasyland rides are always good. Buzz light year is mild. For coasters my kids love big thunder. Even when the little guy was afraid of other rides, I could get him on that one. He doesnt care for the imb. snow monster on the matterhorn. We always have to really talk to get him on that one. Space mountain is a bit intense, you might want to save that one.

I agree that Disneyland is just such a great place to start. You can always begin with some gentle rides in Fantasyland. Then maybe on to some like Jungle Cruise or Pirates. There are so many wonderful possibilities! I'd give them a park map and let them select some that sound interesting to them.

If your kids have never done a coaster I would suggest giving them a try on Gadget's Go Coaster in Toontown. It is pretty mild and really short. I started my DD on Big Thunder which didn't go over too well. It is much longer and much bumpier than Gadget. She didn't want to try any more coasters after that so I really wish I had started at Gadget.

Hope you all have a great time!

Disneyland has more gentle rides than not in case you were wondering. You won't find the big super thrilling roller coasters. With that in mind, a lot of the rides at Disneyland Resort are quite family friendly.

I agree with the previous posters in that I would start at DL, not DCA. There's just something about walking down Main Street and into Fantasyland through the castle. They will all love Peter Pan, Dumbo, Casey Jr. Circus Train, Alice in Wonderland, and King Arthur's Carousel; all in Fantasyland. Plus if they want to meet the characters, there's Toontown. Also in Toontown is a small kiddy roller coaster that's great for beginners.

Other great rides for younger ones:
DL:
-Winnie the Pooh
-Buzz Lightyear
-Autopia
-Nemo
-Jungle Cruise
DCA:
-Monster's Inc.
-All rides in A Bug's Land
-King Triton's Carousel
-Jumpin Jellyfish
-Soarin (for the older ones)
