Where to sit on Virgin Flight?

So currently I have 79A reserved up in the 'bubble' but its completely full and as a solo traveller I will be sharing space with 2 'strangers!'

Having looked at the full seat plan today there are literally loads of rows 'downstairs' completely free to themselves, so Im thinking about switching to one of those in the hope its not a full flight and I can stretch out and take a nap without the fear of waking up asleep on a strangers shoulder drooling on them! :rotfl2:

My concern is that the rows that are free are all at the mid/back of the plane, and I need to land, jump off, clear immigration and get to ASMu by 7pm for my MVMCP! (Yes first night we land!). So really i need to act sharpish!

If I pick what looks like a spare row at the back will they disembark from the both ends of the plane, or just the front with virgin? I think if I sit up in the bubble I will get off the plane first? before they let the other downstair economy off?

Im hoping as a solo traveller whos been there in the last 12 months I can use these new electronic booths to get through immigration fast, but I may have read the wrong information there!

Thanks guys :)

If you sit in the bubble you can be in the first 50 people off if you hustle. We were in the first 8 when we sat in economy in the bubble. Next trip 9 months later we were taken to the front of the line to use the self serve kiosks as we had travelled less than a year ago.

My money to get off quickest is to stay in the bubble.

If space means more to you risk an empty row which may or may not stay like that.

I'd probably stay in the bubble for a quick exit because you need it. Either that or try for seats as close to the front as possible. Last year we were let off at the exit just before row 25, I think that's the norm.

Even though some seats look empty, it could just be people not reserving theirs until later, or not at all. I don't know whether it's possible, but it might be worth asking at check-in about moving to get more space if you do decide you'd prefer that.

Another variable is if it is not a full flight they will close the bubble and move you all downstairs anyway.

I will say you are brave booking party tickets on arrival night with the number of variables in traveling. In July we were held on the plane for an hour after landing

Brave or Daft?!

Its the only night that suited our hectic plans to cram everything in to one week. We didn't want to do the Friday as Epcot have EMH until 11pm, and Sunday is DHS EMH and last night we can see fantasmic before as it doesn't appear to be on the after the monday {refurb or updating I assume!}. So that left us with the first night, and Im on the 1pm flight that gets in at 5.30pm.

I know. Crazy :rotfl2:

But I'm hoping being a solo traveller sitting in the bubble or near the front will get me off the plane first {Im still debating about upgrading my flight to PE on the way out just so I can get off first and have a little more space!}

Im then hoping I can hop & skip over to immigration, jump through and then run to DME! Staying ASMu I don't know if i'll be the first drop off though? Any ideas?

If Im late I'll just meet my friend at MK, and dump my luggage in the lobby with reception and collect it on my way back.

Im just worried about Jet Lag, Im hopnig I'll sleep on the flight out for a few hours to help otherwise I think I'll be having a caffine overload at Starbucks! :dance3:

If you decide to move downstairs in economy you could always enquire about Seat Plus, where you can buy the seat next to you so you have more room.

Good luck on getting through the night at The party, we are always shattered come 10 pm and can't wait to go to bed. we once made it to Epcot but couldn't do much more than have an ice cream and get back to the resort! No staying power :rotfl:

From experience even landing on time and clear run through from PE (so priority baggage handling) and rental car and staying at BLT from the 1pm flight we have never made it to MK before 7pm.

If you are due to land at 5.30 at best you will heading for ME around 6pm - 45 minutes to an hour from that point means you won't get to the resort until around 7pm to check in. 30 minutes to get to MK probably and you are looking at 7.30 at least... assuming no hold ups anywhere along the way.

The good news is if you can catch the first parade & fireworks if you do hit a wall you won't be missing much later in the evening however IMO its a lot of money to spend to not fully enjoy it.

Don't forgot you may have to wait for ME. We waited an hour in May. Half an hour for it to come and half an hour for it to get some passengers on it. I don't want to be a misery guts but 90 minutes from landing to MK is almost certainly impossible.

Sorry to jump in op-

But may I ask a quickie question?

D m e -do you often have to wait a while at mco?
does it stop at various locations, or is there a direct bus to separate resorts?

What about on return journey to airport from resort?

Thanks.

I have waited 10 minutes and waited an hour. It's the luck of the draw. Every time I've used it there have been three hotel stops. You will get picked up about 4 hours (maybe three....) before your flight. Same routine. Three hotels. You might be first you might be last. Again it's the luck of the draw.

Thanks for this.:thumbsup2

Up to four resorts share a bus which can mean 30 minutes travel time even after you reach Disney property.

Never waited more than 40 minutes for it to leave MCO personally.

It's not the quickest method to get to your resort but it's quite relaxing. Personally we pick up a car at the airport now again as it's easier for us :goodvibes

Stick up in the bubble officially so you have the seat for landing. But once you re in the sky if there free rows downstairs you can go and sit in them.

Sorry to jump in here but we are booked on a virgin flight for next May and we've never flown with virgin before.

What's the bubble, is it what I should be trying to book when it's our turn to book seats and how do I know what' seats are in it?

Thank you and sorry for the questions

Andrea

Is a seperate are upstairs. Personally i find it a little bit of a novelty. Main plus is quieter and you get off early so beat the queue fir immigration.

Negative is they close it on quiet flights so everyone gets shunted diwnstairs

The bubble are the seats upstairs which is split into Premium Economy and Economy.if you go onto the Virgin website you can get a seat configuration map. It's personal choice, bubble is smaller and quieter than downstairs.it may be good for you but it depends on what your needs are and what you want!

Is the main advantage it being quieter?

My DD is autistic and may prefer for our seats to be less noisy and crowded.

Do the seats still gave the same entertainment etc.

Thank you for your help I will have a look at the website to find the seats.

You get exactly the same entertainment, some say you'll get better service as theirs less people up there. You should get off the plane quicker, that was our experience , so you'll be nearer the front of the line at immigration.

Just to add, if you do decide on the bubble the seats can go quickly, so be the VA website at 8am 60 days out, think that's how many days out you can book, they're planning to change that sometime.

Yep I know it's going to be stressful getting there by 7pm but I'm taking the chance. I don't mind getting there a bit late I'll just meet my friends at the gate, it's on until midnight! I'll still have time at the party :)
