Where to sit at Fenway Park

We’re from the UK and hoping to watch our first baseball game when we visit Boston on our “way” home from Orlando in May. Any recommendations of the best places to sit in Fenway Park? It would be a Friday evening if that makes a difference. Two adults (but I’m quite short so hoping to be able to see over whoever sits in front of me!).

Not sure what your budget is. We love Pavilion seats. Green Monster seats are nice, too, but super expensive. Grandstand and Bleacher seats are cheap but you can’t see much of the actual game and it’s a tight squeeze (seats are ancient) plus there’s people up and down constantly and stepping over you, etc. I’d spring for Pavilion seats if possible.

It's a very small park so you should have a decent view as long as you aren't behind a pole. Sitting on the green monster is always a great experience, though those tickets can be hard to get.

The best seats are the suites, but those are typically corporate bought or shared with a large group/party. Next would be atop the Green Monster or the right field roof top. Other than those, most are about equal. Center field/grandstand is the rowdy section (and usually the most fun. If your able to get any in the Loge sections, those are also good viewing seats.

Be prepared to spend a small fortune. Fenway is one of the most expensive ball parks in the MLB. Not just tickets, but concessions too. Parking is/was $50 per car in the area. There is public transportation (the MBTA or "The T") but it gets very crowded on game day. For me, its still a great experience and atmosphere but I love baseball and the Red Sox. If you do make it to a game, I hope you have a great time!

We've been to a couple of games at Fenway. First time was along 1st base line, the 2nd time was in the outfield behind the visitor bullpen. LOVED both experiences, and no, I am not a baseball fan.

See what you can do to stay within walking distance of the park. The T is the best way to get there but can be a very long wait to get back on a train after the game.

Also, be sure and get a canolli from Mikes Pastry in the North End. We've been unable to get anything close to the same outside of Boston.

Modern Pastry! Better than Mikes! 🤣

We are Bova people! But then again, DH’s cannolis are better and fresher than any of theirs! Lol
I can support that! Gotta love that Bova's is open 24/7. Used to work in the North End, I miss having so much good food so close by!

Been to Fenway a bunch, A couple of sections to avoid: "Grandstand" - they are underneath other seats and you may have obstructed views or be behind a pole. "Right field box"- these seats actually face the outfield, you'll have to lean forward and turn your head to see the infield. Our favorite area is the "first base loge box" close to the action but elevated a little so the view is good. (picture from first base loge box)21740902_1255767301199147_6161558885506237341_o.jpg

Regardless of where you sit, it’s always a fun time! :goodvibes

I was at Fenway twice, about 1986 then again in 2014. We sat in the first level both times, third base side, in front of the support poles so no obstructed view.

During the 2014 game the side street on the first base side was closed to public access. You needed a game ticket to enter, and various portable vendors were set up there. I don’t remember this being so in 1986, but maybe I’m mistaken.

The day before the 2014 game we took a tour of the stadium and I was less than impressed with the Green Monster seats; a large part of left field wasn’t visible.

I think Fenway is better preserved and overall a better experience than Wrigley in Chicago.

My tickets are on the first base line. Great seats, easy to see.

But for the true Boston baseball experience, the bleachers are the way to go. One of the guys who works at Fenway who has become a family friend says the bleachers are his favorite seats in the park.
