Where to shop?

I am going to Disney with my mom while my dad stays at home. I want to do some fun shopping since my dad is the cheap one. Since we are only there for a few days, we are not going to Downtown Disney. I am fine with that, but I would like to know, is there some place specific in the parks where we can buy some cool things?

There are places to buy things everywhere! In Magic Kingdom the shops all along Main Street are connected internally so you can walk all the way down the street inside the stores. In Hollywood Studios there are stores along Hollywood Blvd and Sunset too. Don't forget the gifts shops you have to pass through to exit some rides. Ohh, the resorts have some great places too (my favorite is in the Contemporary). We also loved Mouse Gear in Epcot!

I love finding things in the little shops that you can't find everywhere. One of my favorites is at DHS called Mickey's of Hollywood. They always seem to have different jewelry there. I love the shop at Germany in Epcot, too.

If you see something you REALLY like I would recommend buying right then or at least before you leave the park. Some items are not available in different places. For example we saw a t-shirt we wanted inside the park but was not available at the big store in Downtown Disney.

I really like the shops in DHS - Keystone Clothiers and Mickey's of Hollywood - for things that are more "on trend". They're right near each other.

There's also Disney Outfitters in Animal Kingdom. My mom and I got Dooney bags there once, so they have some splurgy stuff.

ETA: cannot believe I forgot the giant store in Japan at Epcot. I could spend hours in there. If you like cute little kawaii stationary stuff, this is the place for that! Really, all the shops in World Showcase have some really great things. There's an African themed outpost that has those really cool bracelets with paper-rolled beads.

Mouse Gears in Epcot! It seems like they have everything Disney-themed you could ever possibly want. If you're looking for non-Disney stuff, I second the pp's mention of Mitsukoshi department stor in Japan-it's a must do. The merchandise is exquisite.

I like to shop around the World Showcase. I always spend a fortune in Epcot.
