I just looked on ebay-- cricut stuff is HOT! You wouldn't have any trouble selling that. The PDA ought to sell. The kids clothes, depends on brands. DVDs, I don't know, I've never tried to sell those. I picked up ebay pretty quickly with no help -- it's not too complicated. Craigslist might be an option, but since you live in a rural area, it might be tough -- you wouldn't necessarily want strangers coming to your home (the smartest thing to do is to deliver your items at a public place, like a McDonald's or library).
The two biggest things to be sure of are: 1) check your pricing. Know how much the item goes for new, and check how much it's selling for on ebay (along the left hand side of the page, there's a box to check off for "completed listings" -- that will show items that have closed, and whether they sold and for how much). That will help you price yours so it will sell and not just sit.
And 2), price your shipping reasonably. Put the whole thing in the box you'll ship it in, weigh it, and go to the Postal Service or UPS websites and price the actual cost of shipping. This has been my downfall more than once -- I've underpriced shipping and I had to pay the difference.
Take a photo of your items with a digital camera or find a photo you can copy and paste before you start making your listing. Ebay will walk you through the whole process. You'll need to set up a Paypal account so you can get paid. Read ads and descriptions (the box for the item will probably do) so you can put as much info into your listing as possible. Be honest about the quality and usage of the item.
Good luck! It's much better to have cash on hand that unused stuff in the closet.
