This is our full day, with a PPO at HS finishing with the Stat Wars Fireworks. I'm looking for a place where we can rest and my kids take a nap. I'm not fond of the idea of returning to the hotel bc it really takes too much time on the Disney buses and we are trying to do/see it all at HS. TIA!

I'm assuming the kids will nap in strollers? If writer's Stop is still open go there. It's very quiet and has a/c and chairs you can sit while the kids nap.
Also good places to go would be abc commissary or backlot express dieing off dining hours, so around 3pm
They don't allow strollers inside one man's dream or launch bay which would be the other good places

I think this is a tough park to find a quiet spot in - esp now with so much gone for construction. I think if you are really planning all the shows - that will help give you breaks during the day. For a place to really escape??? I think either of the two "cafeterias" - ABC Commissionary or Backlot Express - can be quiet between about 2-4 pm. If you go out the front gate of the park and head to the left towards the boat launches - that pathway to the boat launches is "quiet" - but I can't remember if there are benches/shade along there. You could also consider booking a very late lunch at Sci Fi Cafe or Mama Melrose's - and then you could linger a bit at those places probably.

I haven't been there since the construction walls went up - but sometimes "dead-ends" in a park are quieter. So - I'm not sure how "populated" the Muppet Courtyard area will be, for example.

At one point there were a few benches in the shade on the walk way from the park to the boat that runs to EPCOT. Actually the boat trip there and back could be an enjoyable rest.

it really depends when the OP is coming. It wouldn't matter if you were sitting outside in the shade during the Summer months, it's still hot. The boat is a good option but there would be a lot of noise from the boat, people, the captain.

I agree about the boat trip. And if your kids require a lengthy nap, stop at Swan/Dolphin or YC/BC as the lobbies are quiet. The Convention Center area of YC, if there is not a convention, is very quiet with lots of benches to rest and no foot traffic at all.

On our last trip, we had some time to kill after we watched Path of the Jedi, so we just waited in the little room you go through as you exit the theater. It was relatively quiet, and there was AC along with some padded bench seats. Our 18month old fell asleep in the movie, and stayed asleep after so it worked out well for us.

I second this idea. It will give you all a little break from the park and for some reason, I just love sitting around in the Beach Club lobby.

For a full HS day I strongly recommend taking the boat to one of the Epcot resorts. We had a lovely quiet lunch at Captain's Grill. The deluxe hotels have sitting areas.

I assume the "Cool Spot" they made last summer (where the Legend of Jack Sparrow used to be) is gone?

That was perfect. A small, dark AC filled room. They put a table in the middle with coloring for the kids and there were chairs in the "lobby" of the old Jack Sparrow attraction. It could maybe hold 20 people in chairs. My son napped there for a solid 90 minutes.

I think every park needs a cool zone like that.

Before I found that, I tried to see if they would let me in One Man's Dream .. nope . no strollers allowed.

Other than that, I can't think of any good spots in the very shrunk DHS now besides some shady spots next to attractions.

I have to check that spot. Mickey was using it but now they moved him, so that might be open.Writer's Stop is always empty now that it doesn't have the bakery items or books. I spent a good hour there this past weekend when it was 97 degrees. Nice comfy chairs and very cool a/c

I don't know where this is. can someone explain, or show on a map, please?

I would take a walk (or boat) towards the Boardwalk. You could relax in the lobby of one of the resorts or if it's nice outside grab a snack at the Boardwalk Bakery and sit at a table outside. The quiet walk might be enough for kids to fall asleep in the stroller (assuming you are using a stroller).

it's the building in between One Man's Dream and TSMM, it used to be home to Capt Jack Adventure, before that it was home to Narnia exhibit
