Where to put the cash?

When we dock in St. Thomas we are going to go to St. Johns to swim and snorkle. What does everyone do with their things (money, key etc.)? Do they have lockers? Should one of us stay on the beach while everyone else is in the water? Thanks!

You could get one of those water tight holders to wear around you neck....

We don't ususally bring a lot of cash onshore with us, but when we do carry cash and we are at the beach, I hide it in our beach bag and always have an eye on the bag when we are in the water. On 10 DCL cruises we never had a problem at any of the ports.

I was going to suggest the same thing - Those water tight containers are great! They even sell them on the ship - I believe that are around $8? -

$5 on board and says Disney Cruise Line. They're shaped like a credit card. All you need is photo ID, key card, a credit card, and some cash. Most of this stuff is waterproof -- I kept disney card in bathing suit pocket without a problem. Read somewhere that Credit cards and disney cards dont get along very well so kept them apart.

I also put snack size baggies in mine, and wrap the money and KTTW and DL inside before putting in that, as i have had a leak before.

Be sure that the one you get has a tight seal. Sometimes cheaper is not the best!

I have seen them at Wal Mart, in the accessories section. You'll also see them in beach side souvenier stores, like Ron Jons.

Similar question - do we need photo ID to get back on the ship? I would like to take as little as possible with me when going ashore - especially credit cards and driver's license - but you gotta do what you gotta do!

yes, you will need to take the dl as a photo id to get back on the ship. That is why i like to use the zip loc baggies as extra protection. cheap or expensive, after so many uses those things leak.
