Looking for info as to definite locations where I can purchase ponchos - and if there are more than the traditional Mickey variey - in Disney Springs. Thanks!!

Pretty much everywhere, you just have to ask for them if its not raining

At the register of most gift shops.
If its raining they generally start displaying them on the counter but if its nice out they are usually behind the counter and you just have to ask for one.

Note to self...stop at dollar store before Disney, buy ponchos and put in park bag. Thanks for the reminder.

Good idea. At a buck each consider buying some extras. After the rain stops you can just throw them away and not hassle with a wet poncho.

Much cheaper to buy before you go. I’ve seen them at Dollar Tree. I’ve seen Mickey ones on Amazon.

I've tried the cheap and throw away route and i just found that they didn't keep me dry and they are literally the material as the icebucket bag in the resort room which clings like no other.
To each their own I guess. I just take my poncho off inside out and put it back in the zip lock baggie then hang it up to dry when I get back to the room.

Thank you everyone! Normally we just buy them when entering one of the 4 parks - but since we are going to Disney Springs our first day, I wanted to get them there. I just didn't know where in Disney Springs they are sold. But according to some replies, it sounds as if most stores in Disney Springs have them either displayed, or behind the counter, so that is fantastic!!
Thanks again!

Why are you buying new ones each trip instead of just using old ones?

Here's a handy tip...take a thick hair elastic or rubber band for each poncho. After using them, fold and roll up, securing with the elastic. Takes up the same amount of space as a small umbrella. No need to dry the poncho first, they won't mildew. I've had the same Disney poncho for almost 10 years.

We do this already. Guess what we do with the extras...you guessed, give them to upset families getting drenched. Makes up for the debauchery we cause the rest of the vacation.

But what happens when it starts raining again that same day?!?

Take it out and put it back on going from inside out to right side out. I've done it a few times and I don't get myself wet. If I'm going to sit somewhere that i can let it dry a bit I do but if I'm going on a ride or something its the inside out and back in the baggie way.
I've been once in June, once in July, 6 times in late August, and once in September so I have had plenty of experience with it too.

We don't use ponchos anymore (much prefer a lightweight rain jacket), but when we did, we just took it back out of the bag and put it back on. The inside wasn't wet, and it didn't matter if the outside was still wet.

Exactly.
Also I've considered a rain jacket because then I could also toss it on in restaurants if the AC is making me cold but I like that the poncho keeps my shorts and legs down to my knees dry plus it can help to keep my socks and shoes dry too if I'm just standing in one place.
Or with the rain jacket do you find it still keeps your shorts dry?
What rain jacket do you have if you don't mind sharing?
I'm not exactly anti other options because in that respect I say do what works for you but I am pro poncho since it works for me lol.

Oh and are they just as packable as a poncho?

I throw a bunch of Dollar Store ponchos in my cinch sak at the start of the day. I'd have to use 10 before they become cost in-effective. So... that way, I don't have to lug a wet porch around...just dispose of when storm is over and be prepared for the next. Everyone has a different preference, but that's mine. :umbrella:
