Where to print A LOT of photos? Most economical?

I havent ordered prints since DD2 was born in Feb 09. I have about 5000 prints to order...where is the cheapest place to order prints? walgreens just had a good deal where you got $10 off a $20 purchase and i uploaded a few batches...i ordered about 800 prints and it was about $50. Good deal i think, but I just didnt have time to upload all of them before the sale was overwith yesterday.

Buy a few frames that include the "100 prints free" coupon. That will give you a few hundred, and their regular price for prints is pretty reasonable.

Look into snapfish.com. Go ahead and make an account, and you'll get coupons all the time. I wouldn't suggest printing all 5k at once, but if you go ahead and sign up now, you'll get coupons for discounted prints. I've never had a bad experience with them, and I get discount codes for free or reduced priced prints all the time.

I second Snapfish. You can also store you photos on the Snapfish website mine go back to my DDs 1st Disney trip in 2003 and as long as you order something I think once every 9 months there is no fee for storing the photos. Once you open an account you will get some free plus you can pre-order a prints say 100 at a time. I had one see of photos that did not see to include everything I ordered. I contact them and they just reran the whole order ran that try to figure out which ones I was missing. I scrapbook and find this to be quick easy and economical.

Snapfish also uses Walgreens to print if you want to pick up locally. They can also be shipped and have some pre-pay plans where they are .9 per print. Just by signing up, I believe you get 50 prints free. Shutterfly will also give you 50 free and print to Walgreens as well.

Snapfish and Shuuterly are both good online options. 4 x 6 at Snapfish are 9 cents. Once you signup you will get deals from Snapfish all the time and with the holidays rapidly approaching, expect even more deals.

Just this weekend they had free shipping all weekend. A great deal.

Locally, I get mine from Sam's Club. Send them to them online and pick up in the store. There are a great source for prints larger than 4 x 6. Hard to beat their enlargement prices. 4 x 6 One hour is 13 cents a print. You can also have them shipped to you for 8 cents. Our store recently changed out their equipment and I really like the finish they now have. It's a cross between glossy and matte.

Another Costco vote. I used a few of those 100 prints free coupons too. The 500+ price is only $0.10 each. Their quality is good. Prints are available in glossy or lustre finish. There is no additional charge for either finish.

just some food for thought... what are you going to do with all of those photos? If you are planning to scrapbook, I'd really recommend trying out the digital scrapbooks, there's less waste, because you only print the pictures you need after you design your book. Costco, Shutterfly and Snapfish all over them. Creative Memories is the cadillac (as a *former* consultant, I'm partial), but it is soooo easy and then you have something nice to hold. I've printed stacks and stacks of photos, and there are many I end up not using.

I agree, why in the world would you ever need 5,000 prints? I would pick out a few hundred of your favorite and save the rest to CD for safe keeping.

I always use Walgreens, only because the shipping at other places puts them too high. I always wait for Walgreens to have their specials. Right now, until Saturday, you can get prints at Walgreens for 10 cents each, code PUMPKIN, and just pick them up to save on shipping.
