We own a floating week at Vistanan Resort and will not use it this year. We would like to rent out the week but we are not sure how or where to post it for rent. You guys are the experts so, any and all advice is greatly welcomed.I cant believe we are going to miss a trip to disney but, high school students do not like to miss school (at least not mine).
THANKS

these will cost you - but I think they are worth it

www.redweek.com - join $20 - to post $10 per post

www.tug2.net - join $15 - you can post an ad for $10 without joining it - if you join it you get a free ad

www.vrbo.com - you can ask if they will allow a timeshare rental.

Thanks for the advise, I posted it on tug on sat. and it is still not showing up.Are one of these sites better than than another?

the tuggers are all volunteers so it make take it a while.

if it is a floaters week I would think you may be able to post it yourself on the BBS - Last minute rentals? try it - it might get removed - but since you don't have a definitely week - I would post it there and see what you get.

use their guide to post with - or it will be removed.

Watch out jeanneg4of4, I had just asked the same question yesterday, and that thread just got deleted by the DIS police. Seems they think we are trying to profit by trying help others, while getting back $$'s spent. Oh well....

Rick I promise I didn't report you.

Since you were trying to help people - and the demand is really great this year -

anyway sorry!!!

That's ok SpiceyCat. I'm not sure anyone actually did the reporting. It doesn't matter. If that week doesn't get picked up, I will just use it for an extra get away. My problem is I have 305 DVC Points, and two weeks of timeshare. Now being a school teacher, I certainly have the time off, but my DW doesn't. Well I guess I could get away by myself. :confused3 OUCH...I didn't know she was looking over my shoulder. :) Bottom line is I love the DIS, and certainly didn't mean to go against the rules. I didn't see it as selling anything, but so be it. I'll get over it. ;)

I am in the same situation - I rent my DVC points - they are much easier to rent than other timeshares - and besides you can get more money for them.

since skyauction and condodirect not to mention tug - lots of folk who don't own a timeshares don't understand the maintence fees and sometimes they don't want to pay you enough to even cover the fees.

with the DVC points you don't have that problem.
