My wife and I are recently new members. We have some points left over in the contract we bought via resale that expire by August. We are expecting our second child this spring and have a 5yr wedding anniversary coming this summer. A lot happening and may just end up renting them, but also considering options in using points ourselves. If we travel right before points expire we will have a 2yo who has already been to Disney and a 3 mo old. We obviously would be looking for a real low key vacation. Probably look for 2 Br accomodations and bring some grandparents along for help. The three choices I am considering are the main 3 - Disneyworld, HH, & VB. Disneyworld would be OK if we took it easy and didn't go commando, but once were there it may be hard to hold back. HH & VB I know nothing about and have never been. Anyone have some suggestions or been in a similiar situation. Thanks!

I know you are afraid of going commando, but take it from a former commando, once you do an afternoon break "for the baby," you will never think of conquering a park again.

I like all three choices you mentioned, if you don't do WDW, I would probably do HH mainly for the tempature. I bet the tempatures in SC will be less harse than those of southern Florida.

If you choose WDW, I would take either OKW or VWL, these are probably the most laid back resorts on property.

Now, I have slightly different opinion. We went with a 3 year old and a 4 month old and stayed at VWL, now we love VWL it's our home, but I'd recommend BCV or BWV. When you have small children that old, there is nothing worse than feeling isolated. You can walk to a lot of places from both of those locations and with most likely a double stroller, a must!!! It's great also since BCV has Stormalong Bay a GREAT pool for little ones, your 2 year old would love it!! I feel the only way to visit WDW with such a little infant now is to stay at a DVC resort because the kitchen just makes it SOOO much easier!!! You'll have a good time, even if you don't bring anyone. DH and I were alone our first time at VWL with our little ones(actually we're always alone), and it was a breeze. Taking breaks in the afternoons, and just generally lounging it was GREAT!!!

I wouldn't worry so much about being tempted to go commando.. We used to do commando, years ago before DVC because we wanted to get the most out of our time. Now since we have the DVC we take more relaxing vacations. We have been there since our kids were born and our style of vacation changed too. We had our then 5 month old there this summer and she did fine. Took it really easy.. One day at MK very slow. We had MIL with and she sat with baby in shade or in restaurants while my wife and I took our 5 year old on rides. There is so many relaxing things to do at WDW that you can fill a whole visit and never visit a theme park. I agree with TnRobin.. OKW may be your most relaxing location... You can park in front of the unit which helps when you are shleping around a lot of baby stuff, including strollers etc. Not to mention if baby falls asleep and you have to carry him/her (or 2 year old for that matter) into the room from the car..

Any place you chose though, I am sure you will enjoy.

I would do VWL, you are close to the MK, so you could pop in and out at your leasure, also there is alot to do over at the Contemporary, which is great for strolling, you can stroll the kids over to Fort Wilderness, see the animals, just bop around, we stayed at the contemporary when my little guy was 11 months, and found the area of VWL to Fort Wilderness to be wonderful. You could send hubby and 3 year old over to MK and stay behind with baby, or the other way around!!!

Another vote for VWL-You are close to MK-but you don't have to go there if you don't want to.

We took the boat over to FW a couple of times and roasted marshmallows with Chip N' Dale and watched the movie on the big screen-you can also go for a carriage ride or something. There are plenty of places to eat-the pool and kiddie pool are nice and can keep you busy if you don't want to go to the parks.

I really think you will be happy anywhere. Having the kitchen area is going to be great for you and your children. Plus, if you're in the mood, it's a quick trip to MK.

I know you would love VB-very relaxing and tons of things for kids to do.

We have been to DVC with small children

I enjoyed both Boardwalk and VWL .
We took both of our children now 2 and 5 to Boardwalk and wilderness in years past

The good thing at boardwalk and wilderness we were able to find a nice shady spot near pool and placed baby at the time under some shade.
We were then able to take turns with our son in pool.

At boardwalk there is a lot to see without the cost of park admission.

We were even able to have an adult dinner at flying fish.
The waiter was excellent with the kids .Gave us some time to relax.

We bought DVC when our son was very young. Our plans are to take it easy on the running from park to park now while they are young.
Our last visit to Wilderness our son made friends at kids pool and didnot want to leave. One day he was in the water almost non stop for hours.

We figure lets use this time when they are young to take it easy get a fell for parks etc. When they get jusy alittle older is when they will be running us around from ride to ride.

We still go to parks but at a relaxed pace.

Another vote for VWL - The vacation that we took there with our 3-year old last Christmas was the most relaxing we had. It's a small resort, very relaxing and easy access to the MK. (Our daughter didn't care for the other parks at all). We would go to the park in the morning for a few hours, return, have lunch, take a nap, and go to the pool. And while the grandparents watch the kids at night, you can head out to the great jacuzzi or to the lounge or pool bar. I was pregnant during our trip and really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. Good luck with your decision.
