We are staying in Disney and would like an idea of where to eat with entertainment or nice place with choice of foods as we don't mind really thanks :confused3

I would suggest T-Rex as well. My son loves it. We've always enjoyed our meals here, and the atmosphere is very cool.

Call me crazy, but I would say California Grill at the Contemporary. There is no entertainment unless you manage to get a reservation during the fireworks at MK. You can leave your table to go out on the 15th floor observation deck to watch, then return to your meal. Nothing short of awesome!

Another good choice would be Epcot UK Rose & Crown, during Illuminations. Same deal.

Both reservations are hard to come by during fireworks times, though.

Be sure your son wears his free birthday pin! :)

Hoop De Doo! We took DD when she was 6 and she absolutely loved it. Even though we've been back to WDW several times, we've never gone back to HDDR. However, every trip she mentions it. We are booked to eat there on her surprise birthday trip in March. The HDDR is where we'll be on her actual birthday. She's going to be so shocked! It's fun and the corny humor is perfect for kids around your son's age.

I haven't been to T-Rex, but that's probably a good option if he's into dinosaurs.

Is this your first trip to Disney? If it is, then Chef Mickey's might be a fun birthday dinner for him.

I see you are from England so I would be concerned that some of the humor of HDDR would be lost on your son.

I agree that Rain Forest or T-Rex are good choices if you are NOT on the DDP. Neither are covered on that and there are too many other good choices to pay out of pocket for these.

I think most 7 year old would still enjoy a character meal. Chef Mickey is always a fun birthday choice. Tucker House has Donald and has now added a lunch meal that is great for boys.

Other places my boys like include:
Coral Reef (sea food inside a huge fish tank)
Whispering Cannon Cafe
Sci-fi Drive Inn
Ohana's
