We are trying to think of somewhere to go for our 25th. I am looking for suggestions. We have already been to Aruba, Nasseau, St. Kitts, and St. Maarten so we're thinking of going somewhere else. We are thinking five nights. Any bargains? Thanks.

Maui, Cancun, US British Virgin Islands, Cruise, Turks & Caicos.....Bora Bora, Figi Islands...

We chose St. Martin because it's our favorite island and have been there a number of times. We are going away for 10 days and didn't go for the French Polynesian because it takes too long to travel there and we only can get so much time off of work. Turks and Caicos was our other choice but that was too pricey with 4 kids! Have fun deciding!

We have already been to St Maarten so we would like to go somewhere different. But, thank you. I was hoping that someone would name a place and a hotel that they loved.

Check mcm tours/Aruba for you. They get really wonderful deals. Never rains there and the water is the freshest. Aruba is beautiful especially for an anniversary. Best wishes.

Grand Cayman! Not exactly budget friendly but safe, clean, and beautiful. Plenty of fantastic restaurants and safe water too!

Thanks but we have already been to Aruba a couple of times and Grand Cayman as well. Has anyone been to Puerto Rico or St Thomas? If so, where did you stay? Did you love it. What is there to do there? About how much will it cost?

We went to NYC for our 10th and had a blast. The shows, food, museums. We spent a week there and only just scratched the surface. I could have spent a month there. We stayed at a time share, Manhattan Club. Great location and room.

DH & I went to Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos for our 10th, 15th and hope to go back in a couple years for our 20th. We love it there. We first chose it because of the time and ease to fly there and it would be easy to get home if something came up. We leave MYR around 7am, one short layover in CLT and are on the island at lunch time! Flight home leaves at 3 so we get one more long morning walk on the beach and nice lunch before leaving and are home by 11pm. When you only have 5 days it’s great not to waste a whole day on each end traveling. The water is gorgeous, the sand is soft & white and the island is very safe. We rent a car and explore everywhere. The snorkeling is good too and I can give you the companies we used if you are interested. We stayed at the Royal West Indies both times, visited the Sands, and Ocean Club and Ocean Club West. Would stay at any of those in a heartbeat. They are all on Grace Bay Beach. Like most on the island they are moderately priced, condo style resorts. There are no skyscraper buildings, most are 3-6 floors with a very few being maybe 10-15 floors but those are the new high priced places. There is a grocery store near the resorts for wine, beer and sandwich stuff. There is not much nightlife so if you are looking for action this may not be for you. T&C is like the Bahamas in landscape, flat & dry. The resorts are beautifully landscaped.
I would consider staying on St Thomas just because of the deals on hotels there but I would use it as a jumping off spot to day trip by ferry to the surrounding islands like St John (would much rather stay there) and Tortola (would love, love, love to stay there). Also, from looking at friends pictures I would go to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico or Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The resorts they stayed at were beautiful. They were affordable all inclusives and the air fare was very reasonable. But they did have to stay in the resort areas and not venture out due to safety.

Hope that helps and Congrats on your 25!

Does it have to be an island?

We honeymooned in Arizona and visited the Grand Canyon, Meteor Crater, Sedona, many Indian ruins, etc. It was a great way to spend time together, alone.

I'd also suggest Bilmore Estate in NC or The Homestead in VA (and Omni resort).

Costa Rica. Some of the prettiest beaches and not much harder to get to than the Virgin Islands. Plus lots of wildlife.

We just went through same process for our 10th and wanted 4-5 nights. Costa Rica was a leader but decided we felt we needed a week or more to fully appreciate it. We decided on St.Thomas and used miles for flights and still scoping out hotels.

Napa/Sonoma - great wine, great food, cute little B&Bs/boutique hotels, spas.

Buy American and go to San Francisco.
Or Alaska! Our Alaskan cruise was beyond amazing and we enjoyed knowing all our excursions were supporting American workers, which most cruise excursions don't. Of course that would be beyond the 5 day limit for OP but just saying. It's not the first place that comes to mind for most people but we'd go back in a heartbeat. Our day in Juneau was 70 which felt great compared to 90's & muggy back home.

I agree! We loved GC and Sedona. It's the one place my kids keep asking to return to.

DR is usually pretty reasonably prices for the all inclusives. We went to the Now Larimar Punta Cana in May and it was beautiful.

I've never been there but what about the Keys or the Outer Banks.

Hawaii and Alaska are both incredible, but coming from the East Coast you need more than 5 days. Also they are both pricey.

Niagra Falls is also really beautiful and romantic.

Napa is beautiful and we also love napa and San Francisco area. We did a 4 night trip several years ago and took a red eye back east.

For a 5-day trip (which to me is really short), I second the San Francisco/Napa/Sonoma suggestion. We went there for 4 days a few years back, and it really was great. We did a wine tour in which we were shuttled around (no worries about drunk dirving!), went to Muir Woods, Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Gate Park, Chinatown. We stayed at a boutique hotel (I think Kimpton one?) that had a wine reception in the lobby every night.

Sounds like you've done the beach thing alot so...

Disneyland and San Diego (Hotel Del Coronado)

or

Northern California (Monterey, San Francisco, Yosemite Nationl Park)
