Hello all:) We are doing our first ever Disney world trip this coming spring at the end of April. We are going for my sons 5th birthday! It's going to be a surprise. We want to have a special dinner for him on his birthday. What recommendations do you have on where to take him? I've been looking at a few places but would love others in put on what you and your family love:) thanks so much for your help!

My sons are all grown up now but if I were to take my son for his birthday, I would choose one of the character dining. Who is his favorite character in Disney? Maybe you can choose character dining that would have his favorite character?

He loves Mickey obviously lol everyone does. He also loves LILO and Stitch. I've looked into those character meals like chef mickeys and the Polynesian. Where is whispering cayon cafe at?

We did my son's 6th birthday at Disney and we try to do special birthday dinners and also a special suprise. Last year we did the Pirate adventure out of the Grand Floridian which was a hit.. Back to the food.... his fav's are: Chef Mickeys, Biergarten, Cape May (breakfast), Garden Grill, Crystal Palace and Tusker House. He loves buffets where they have a special kids section. He loves being able to choose and get his own food. We like Chef Mickeys better for dinner than breakfast actually- but food wise- would be content with CP, TH, or GG.

Whispering Canyon is super fun and at Wildnerness Lodge.

Lilo & Stitch Breakfast is a blast.

It is seasonal so not sure what date it opens but Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness is a buffet with Mickey. Looks fun. Now you can do preferred cat 1 seating with meeting Mickey before the show, eat and drink before others and closer seats.

My DS3's birthday will happen over our December trip. I asked him what character he really wanted to meet, fearing BB-8 or someone else he can't meet. He surprised me by saying Alice, so now we're having breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and I'm glad I asked! We're also getting the Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream that afternoon, ending the day with the Pirates & Pals cruise, having done the Pirates League that morning.

Park or resort? If park, which park are you visiting that day? If resort, where are you staying?

We did chef mickeys for my sons 5th birthday. He loved it. I asked him what restaurants were his favorite from our trip and he said rainforest cafe. He said he wanted to try trex next time.
