Where to go for a special meal?

I am debating taking my sister on the 3-day Wonder cruise at the end of May - she graduates this year from high school and I thought before she went to college, we would go on the cruise together.

My question is: if we go, we'd be flying into Orlando on Wednesday and staying a night somewhere on property. Since we probably won't go to the parks that night, since it's only 1 day, does anyone have suggestions for a good place to get a special meal? We've eaten at O'Hana and Boma and really liked those but since it was a special "sister" trip I thought I would like to try something new.

The only stipulation is that I wouldn't want a restaurant that required you to enter the parks as we won't have park tickets.

Thanks in advance! :woohoo:

Most of the resort restaurants tend to be "signature" aka expensive. I don't know what your meal budget is, so I'm not sure I could recommend anything where the entrées can be over $30 pp.

Hi, BriarRosie!

Well, I would say that I would like to stick to the $30-$40 per person price range. Because of that, maybe it's better to stick with somewhere like O'Hana or Boma. I'm leaning towards Boma b/c I think we'll end up staying at AK that night before we leave, and we ate their last time and really enjoyed it.

I thought about looking at Jiko (did I spell that right?!) but I'm assuming that's a pricey choice. Not that she's not worth it :) but since we would be going on the cruise the next day, I would rather spend the money on souvenirs or something like that.

Jiko is quite a bit more expensive than Boma but you might want to check out Jiko's menu and perhaps just go and get appetizers or something like that. IMO Jiko's appetizers are what make that place so amazing. Even though they do not list it on the menu, they do offer an appetizer sampler platter. We get that, along with the Taste of Africa appetizer and it's plenty of food for 2 people.

Great advice! I never thought about just appetizers but that's a good idea.

Thanks again! :yay:

Planet Hollywood in DTD.....California Grill (top of Contemporary) is a great place to watch fireworks....again, think of doing appetizers and dessert.
