Where to get the lowest hotel price

We have to go to a wedding in July and we have to stay in a hotel 2 nights. The two hotels closest to the wedding location are Comfort Suites and Fairfield Inn by Marriott - i have looked at them both for ratings on travelocity and both are good -

Comfort Suites $140
Fairfield Inn $125
both include breakfast and have pools I need to keep my kids busy

my question is how is it possible to find a lower price. I know I can go thru mypoints to get additional points. I'm also going to see if AAA will get me a lower price. We normally go camping and so I don't know that much about getting a good price for a hotel.

You may want to check out tripadvisior if you already havent. They compare prices with alot of other engines.

If you know the hotels and locations, you should try priceline. You can pretty much figure out which hotels you might get by checking the area on their website, and seeing what the star level is. If you have time, you can start pretty low, and then re bid every 24 hours.

Thanks - we've decided to take our camper to a state park that's about 15 minutes from the wedding site and take 2 cars - that way I can leave when I need to with the kids. My DH is in the wedding and I know it will be an all day event - my son is on the autism spectrum and won't last more than a few hours.

state park - 3 nights total $87.50
hotel - 2 nights - $258.00

money saved: $170 which is great since my husband just had to pay for his tux today ($150)
