Hi,
I'm on the list with DVC for a smaller add-on. Looking for 50 points but probably wouldn't say no to 100!

Looking for places to call to get on the "list". I read Shontell name mentioned frequently, what company is she with?

Thanks and I hope this is an appropiate post!

You should contact one (or more) resale brokers to let them know what you are looking for. Many resales never make the websites since they are taken by those on these contact lists quickly.

The Timeshare Store is the sponsor of this site and has assisted many on this forum with resale purchases.

Shontell may be found at dvcbyresale.com and atimeshare.com is another oft mentioned brokerage. There are many others around, but these three are located in Orlando and have a good grasp of the market.

Enjoy!

We bought 50 point add-on at HHI in October from Shontell at dvcbyresale.com and it was all done by mail and very quickly. You can see the inventory on-line. I highly recommend her.

Is it possible to buy a 50 pt resale? I guess if you own at BWV then bought a 50 pt contract at BCV direct from DVC, then put the 50 pt contract on the market? I would think those small resales would be few and far between.

When we looked around before buying our OKW resale, we found that the lower point contracts tend to go very quickly compared to the 200+ contracts.

Hey! This is my 400th post! hoo hoo!

Joepoe,
IT IS POSSIBLE! I did it, as you can see in my post. I can assure you it was a legal legitimate transaction. Hopefully, I misinterpreted your comment.

We've purchased two contracts from Jaki at atimeshare.com and she's been great. Just contact her (and a few other brokers) with the details of what you're interested in and she'll let you know when something comes available.

There are 50 and 100 point resales that definitely do go on the resale market (and even 60, 70, 80, 90, etc.). Check timesharesbyresale.com, thetimesharewarehouse.com, dvc-resales.com and others. They are sometimes hard to find, but they pop up every now and then.

Good luck!

I didn't ask if it was legal! :p I just never saw one listed before. They must go pretty quickly, therefore you were in the right place at the right time. Only add-ons through another resort could be sold as a 50 point contract to existing members, because IIRC, if you add on at your home resort in your current use month DVC tacks it on your current contract. Am I making sense?

I just added on a 50 point resale. It was in the same use year as my 3 other contracts. It was "tacked-on", as you said, to my current contract(s) and all are accessed via the same membership number. I know that this contract was posted on the internet for less than a day, so they do go fast. Let a broker or two know what you want and they may contact you even before they post it publicly. I have worked with Shontell as well as Jerry at the Timeshare Store and recommend both highly.

Actaually, every add-on is a separate contract and will have it's own unique contract number- even at the same resort. The main number will be the same, but the suffix will be something like .001, .002, .003 for each additional purchase. These may also be sold as individual contracts. While DVC does include the add-ons in your point total at each resort on that contract, the contract is indeed separate and may be sold aside of the original purchase. The legal description of your ownership will also be different on each contract and will be expressed as .00xxxx% of xyz unit at the resort. We own a small percentage of 8 different buildings at OKW- some for as few as 25 points and others as large as 380 points. Each can be sold separate from the others.
