Hello,

going to DL with family, first week of April. DD4 (bday during trip) and DD18 months would like to wear costumes during the trip (well the 18 month old did not actually verbalize this :) )

my question is where can we get costumes for a good price, not looking for cheaply made costumes that fall apart after 1 or 2 wearings since DD loves to play dress up at home. looking for good value for the money.

some stores i have looked at:

Disney store - costumes around $40-$50
Kohls - costumes $45
ebay - vary

any help would be appreciated. :)

When we were at dl in dec, my dh wanted to
buy my dd a $65 snow white dress at the bibitti ****oti boutique. I told him to hold off. I went to
Target on harbour (5min drive) and got a dress, shoes, purse, gloves, necklace, and head band with wrapping paper for $45. Dh was thrilled and our dd didnt know difference. The only problem is the disney costumes are sized and the ones you buy at target/walmart for $20 are around a 4T. They are also a bit more flimsy. I would love my daughter to do the boutique spa deal they have for a big event like a birthday. But next time we go I am either going to
do ebay ahead of time for a used "nicer" dress or buy a target one ahead of time and then "pin and sew" it so it will fit her better. She kept tripping over it:-(

We got ours at the Disney store (although they were for Halloween) . This won't help now, but they put them anywhere from 40-60% off right before and after Halloween at the Disney store. I know they seem like a bit of money, but they are great quality, we have some of the ones from Target and they don't hold up nearly as well.

thanks for the responses :)

i've seen the ones at walmart/target and we might get those for our 18 month old daughter.

i would hope that if we get a better quality costume for our 4 year old, she could pass it on to her younger sister (one can hope right ;) )

thanks for all the posts so far, i have been told that kohls usually runs % off sales for their $45 Disney costumes (and i hope these are better quality for the price), maybe able to get these closer to $30 with the sales.

so my target price would be

$20 for good quality for the toddler
and ~ $20-$30 for our preschooler...... got a couple of months left, so will do some searching :)

I've bought alot of costumes off of ebay from mydressuptrunk and they don't have all the disney stuff on them but you know what character they are suppose to be and the thing we liked is they wash well and don't have the itchy tulle! You can buy a slip to make them full.

just found a seller named: Sacks & Such (costumes made by little adventures) on Amazon and they sell the costumes with free shipping. prices at $27. pretty decent reviews too. anyone buy from them before??

looks like the positive reviews say it is not itchy, are the disney ones known for being itchy??

I just got two princess costumes from the Disney store for $24 a piece, on a huge sale since they are from Halloween still. I also got some from Kmart for $20

The seller I posted about on ebay sells the costumes by Little Adventure.
They are great and it looks like the same price as on Amazon.

I would check the size for the toddler. The only ones I have seen at Target/Walmart would not fit an 18 month old...I would hate for you to count on it, and it be too big.

Best of luck:yay:

The Disney Outlet Stores had Princess dresses for $19.99 2 weeks ago. We were in 2 stores in California, but I'm assuming this deal was and still may be available throughout all their outlets.

I always find great costumes on Ebay. Also, if you search "boutique disney" you'll find all kinds of extra cute stuff - shirts, hairbands, etc. Worth a look.

Do or did they ever sell Pinocchio costumes? I want to get my nephew one >< I don't want to make it though

I agree with the disney store online. I got dd an alice on there for under 20. Her snow white dress we got for 20 at the Halloween store. The Alice one is 1 year old and still looks great and the snow white one is only 4 months but still perfect. She was 19 months and very petite when she wore the Alice one size xxs.
