Where to get Potatoheads

Anyone know if Potatoheads are still available in AK, and if so, is the selection the same as at the marketplace? Are there any other places to get "the box"?

I was told Once Upon a Toy has an exclusive of I believe it was 8 weeks on any newly released pieces.

They also carry the largest selection on an ongoing basis.

I second Once Upon a Toy in Downtown Disney. They have a huge selection.

If you have Potato head fans, they might also like a stop by Pop Century to have a picture taken near the big statues of the Potato heads.

I cannot wait to get new Mr. Potato head pieces when we go to WDW next week.

I think I have to take inventory of what we have so I don't duplicate. We are probably going to take or Mr. PH and a few pieces with us and then gets lots of new ones.

Also, I heard that PopCentury has a "package" exclusive to that resort.

We never made it to Once Upon A Toy, but purchased different Potatoheads at Epcot & Toontown. They both had different parts.

In the store that looks like a big tent in MK. They have a ton of stuff there. I think next time I am there I will fill a box with the accessories and not get the potato head.

That is the same thing I'd suggest....
If you already have a potato head, don't get another one, it just takes up space in the box. Also, if you do get a potato head, make sure you fill it up with pieces before putting it in the box.

We didn't find the AK location (I believe it was in DinoLand) until our last day, and had already purchased quite a selection for our son earlier in the trip.

That said, I would swear that AK had pieces that we did not see at either DD or MK. Don't know if it might have been in inventory issue, or if they just regularly carry different pieces at different locations.

Oh, well. Just give us something to add to the collection next time.

In AK we saw the potatoe heads in the store by the exit to dinasaur. Lots of different pieces in the bins.

can you purchase the parts individually or do you have to buy a boxful each time? so the dtd store does not have all the parts? some are exclusive to each park only?

At Chester & Hester's in AK (in Dinoland) they have a potatohead area. Mousegears in Epcot has it. County Bounty in Toontown in MK has it. The main store (I can't remember the name but it's on the right when you leave MGM) in MGM has it I think. I know Pop Century has a potatohead area, but not sure on other resorts.

I think Once Upon a Toy at DD has the most parts and some exclusive parts. The other stores seem to vary on what parts they have.

Can anyone tell me where I can buy a Mr. Potatohead BEFORE I get to the parks? Not with all the accessory pieces, of course, but I would like to get the 'head' before we go.

You can not buy individual pieces. You can only buy them by the box. Obviously the gimmick is to get you to buy the park specific pieces - which is what happened to us, but the kids are still playing with it and it is something that will last for years, so I didn't mind spending the money. If you are on a budget, I would suggest seeing all of the shops before deciding which pieces you want, because on more than one occasion I saw adults & children complaining about the parts being different at the various shops.

Most toy stores have Mr Potato Head. I've seen him in ToysRUs, Target and Wal-Mart.
