DD (4th grade) has been saying for months that all she wants for Christmas is a Nintendo DS. Well, I only spend about $100 per kid (at MOST) for Christmas. Looks like the Nintendo DS always costs $129, no matter what store you buy it from. Does anyone know of a better deal? I mean, even if it is a rebate, or another item free, or whatever...I could always use that other item or rebate toward my other kids' gifts.

Just hoping to make this work, for dd.

toys r us has a ten dollar off card attached to their big book if you spend 100.00, then there is another coupon onthe back that gives you a ten dollar gift card for future purchase if youspen 75.00 at the first purchase, didn't pay attentionif you can stack these tow or not.

I am pretty sure, though, that the small print specified "Not including Video Game Hardware." Don't know if that means the console won't count toward that $100 you have to spend, or if it means you can't use the $10 giftcard toward the console. Worth checking into, though.

Anyone else?

Am also considering just getting her a Gameboy instead, because her brother has one --- then they can share games and accessories instead of me having to buy that many MORE things later, lol. She was definitely wanting a DS, but maybe she'd be content with the Gameboy. Oyyy. This, from the kid who never makes a wish list (usually fine with any gifts!)

you can get $10 if you set up a new Gmail account and use Google Checkout at Buy.com - also usually no sales tax or shipping.

But still won't be $100 and you would still have to buy games.

Why dont you try gameestop or eb games. Buy a used system with some games i think you can probably due under $100 for the system there, have you tried ebay maybe for a like new but used system?? The gameboy games all play on DS so she should have something for a bit.

You can get a used Nintendo DS at gamestop for $80, but it is the older DS system, not the DS Lite.

The lighting on those are so bad that it is very difficult to play them outside or in the car.

The refurbished DS Lites are $119, which really doesn't seem all that worthwhile to me. I'd rather pay the extra $10 and get a new one.

You might want to check out the sales for After Thanksgiving. Someone should have one a little cheaper that 129.99? I will post if I find anything out.
Thanks!

I am going to buy my older girls both a N.DS from Santa this year...

I am really hoping for a day after Thanksgiving sale!!! Cause those suckers are expensive!!!:scared:

Yup..you are right...I bought the crimson/black DS Lite and asked them if I could take advantage of the coupon/gift card..and she said she doesn't think so but if it takes it when she scanned them, then I can use them. Nope..it didn't scan.

I got the pink DS Lite about 3 weeks ago from Toys R Us. They were offering it for $129 and then you got a $20 gift card. That seemed to be the best deal around. Games were also buy 2 get 1 free so I picked up 6 total (for xmas, birthday, vtines and easter basket).

Maybe you'll get lucky and have another deal like this again. I'm glad I broke down and did it. As it's getting closer to Christmas their getting harder to find...around here anyway.
