Where to get MP3 player for DD14

DD14 is asking for an MP3 player that also plays movies and games for the holidays. She already has a Kindle, but likes borrowing dad's old iPod touch. I don't want to spend the $ on a new iPod Touch because things tend to get broken and lost a lot in our house, plus she's ok with the older model and wants other presents. So, I'm unsure if I should get a used iPod or new Android. Any thoughts? I checked for a refurb on Apple.com, but it appears to be sold out.

My 3rd gen got the white screen of death a week before Thanksgiving, and I've been slowly looking into replacing it since then. I addition to a pawn shop, check out Gamestop. Do you have any old games or devices to trade for store credit? What about an older model iPhone that can be used as an iPod without cellular service? Ask around, maybe a friend or family member will be upgrading and willing to sell theirs to you for the upgrade value.
