Where to get a good cup of hot tea

I'm hoping that there are at least a few hot tea drinkers that read these boards. Do most restaurants serve a really hot, well brewed cup of tea?? I really enjoy a couple of cups with breakfast and also a cup with a great chocolate dessert. Nothing disappoints me more than a luke warm cup of tea

Anyone have any experiences at Kona, Concourse Steakhouse, Le Cellier, LTT, Donald's Breakfast, H&V, Storybook Breakfast, CRT breakfast and Hoop Dee Doo. Love to hear about both good and bad experiences!!

I would like to know too. I am a huge tea drinker, at least 8 cups a day.

In my opinion no. Now, I'm also not your average tea drinker. I'm not happy drinking Lipton, or any of your usual concoctions. I only drink an English Breakfast blend imported from England, and only use loose leaf when having an herbal tea. If you're happy drinking HOT Lipton, or any of your Celestial Seasoning teas you should be fine. If you're a tea snob like me, you'll be severely disappointed!!

No, I am not just happy with just Lipton black tea. I recently ran out of tea and went to the local conveniece store and picked up Lipton. I brewed it in a tea pot for a least 10 minutes and it still tasted watered down. I have enjoyed English Breakfast tea, but have been using Tetley's British Blend-- A great strong black tea.
I'm not into the herbal teas.

Anyone out there know if there are choices on teas in the restaurants?? Also, how about tea at the Rose and Crown restaurant at Epcot. Surely the Brits would brew an acceptable cup of tea!!

Some of the "nicer" restaurants (Narcoossee's, Citrico's, Artist Point, etc) will give you a choice of teas, but the average ones will just serve regular orange pekoe. They are usually Twinings, which to me is still inferior tea. I've never gone to the Tea at the GF, but I'd guess they have good tea there. Actually, the tea at the R&C isn't any better. The English actually usually use loose leaves to brew their tea, not bags, and at R&C, they serve the same stuff as all WDW restaurants.

The best tea in the world is hands down at the Grand Floridian. Just returned and had afternoon tea four times. The sandwiches, pastries and scones are also delicious. And the grand finale was a huge bowl of strawberries with the most delicious imported Devonshire cream imaginable. The atmosphere is also just as grand, overlooking the beautiful gardens of the resort.

There was a stand in the Great Britain area that sold various types of Twinings teas. The tea is in tea bags but since I like Twinings so much, that's certainly fine with me. I don't know if it's still there but hopefully it is!

I'm not a tea drinker but a friend of mine who is (this guy was dubbed the "tea snob" after he required his tea at the GF tea to be prepared in a french press so that he could brew it to perfection after which it was poured over into a regular teapot so that it could be kept warm under the cozy) LOVED the mint tea at morocco.

Hi.. I had tea at breakfasts and after dinners and found them to be hot and fine at all the sit down places - counter service can be iffy.

Only problem with tea was the servers would bring cream with it *Gag* I hate cream with tea... blech! I would have them bring me a new cup and some milk.

I too am somewhat of a picky tea drinker and generally will not get it out . I can take poorly made coffee but poorly made tea is the pits! I think the key is not having the water hot enough. Drives me crazy when they bring you a cup of tea , with the tea bag on the saucer and the water lukewarm. YUCK!! I get my tea from a company called Harley & Son , they have a great tea (we get loose) of the month club. They have a website. They in fact brew a spell blend exclusively for the GF. Palm Court?? Or something like that. Knowing the quality of their other teas this must be wonderful, I plan to try it when we are at WDW. Check them out . Maybe our British Dis friends can tell us what they do at WDW.

I have two favorite teas at the GF. The Garden Blend and the peppermint. Both are delightful. I hope you enjoy your experience at the GF tea. It is a time honored tradition of the women in my family to partake in this pastime, and the GF far exceeded expectations.

Well, I guess I'm not a tea snob because I enjoy a nice hot cup of Lipton's. The best I've had in the States however was an import from Iran that a friend of mine could get in a store in Chicago.

Now for a perfect cup of tea I think you have to go to Ireland. Hot but not burning, perfectly brewed at even a casual shop.

But I digress. Over the years I've found it harder to get hot tea in WDW. I bring my own Darjeeling, Lipton, English breakfast, etc. tea bags and get hot water in my mug. If I have a ceramic mug along to transfer the water to in my room all's the better.

I don't think you can get a decent cup of tea in WDW - to be honest, I don't think you can get a decent cup anywhere in the USA unless you make it yourself. I have been served enough appalling cups of tea in the States that now I only drink coffee on holiday - it's just not worth trying to drink tea that's been made with awful teabags and luke warm water.

if they bring you a cup of water and a teabag on the side, then no matter the quality of the teabag you are never going to get a decent cup of tea out of it - the water has to be poured over the tea when it is still boiling.

Personally, I like Tetley, but Twinings is ok - Lipton's is awful.
Twinings is actually made in my home town, but it's a strange company, you can't buy there tea in shops, they come round with a little van and sell it to you out of the back of the van. Since i am always at work when the van comes round, I never buy it, but my mil gets it quite often.

I have to say, I haven't tried the tea at the GF, I would hope that it was made correctly, and if you got tea in the Rose and Crown, or the Fish and Chip shop in the UK in Epcot then it might be ok too, since they are mostly British people who are working there.

I am like BCV23, I usually bring my own tea. I just found Lady Grey and love that. Usually I drink Earl Grey or English Breakfast. At the AS Sp they had Prince of Wales by Twinnings.

Planogirl - The place you were talking about is still there. They also carry English candy. But since our military commissary has started carrying Flakes, Crunchies and Aero's I won't pay the $1.25+ they are asking.

For just a regular cup of tea, I use Tetley's and a British friend recently suggested PG Tips British Blend. So I will have to give that a try.

I hate it when you get a cup of tea with the tea bag on the saucer and the water has been slopped onto it.
