On our first cruise my wife and I were kind of wondering the same thing. Turns out we needn't have worried, the kids LOVED the kids clubs and we could go to any of the bars on the ship, have our cocktail and chat, and then literally drag them out of the clubs to have dinner with us. Yes I feel like it could really go either way with my kid she's 5 and an only child, so I hope she'll like them, keeping our fingers crossed
