i just gave my only Disney lanyard to my DD7 so she can tote her pins around for trading during our Sept. trip. Now all my pins are in a ziploc baggie. I've been on Ebay and I'm kinda discouraged. How much does Disney sell their lanyards for at WDW? how can I get an inexpensive one? Any ideas?

Hot Topic and Clairs have some Disney theamed Lanyards most of the time.

DD uses PinBags now so she doesn't have to worry about them clanging around or getting lost. CD cases work good in a pinch for this as well, the ones with a few sheets of felt with the plastic covers.

CD cases...so you just push the pins through the plastic?

When we used one in a pinch we pushed the pin through the Felt and let the plastic cover the pin to protect it a bit more this way we could use both sides and stager the pins to carry more. DD just slid the case over her Fannypack as it had a belt loop in it.

We then found a nice small and on a later trip a medium Pin Bag with Tink on it.

I found bright colored lanyards (plain, not Disney) @ the Dollar Tree. DS and DD didn't care that they weren't Disney as the pins would cover any writing or pictures. DD made her own pinbook by using a 3 inch binder. She bought pre-cut felt pieces (about 10 cents each @ Hobby Lobby) and used a piece of notebook paper as a guide for punching holes. She decorated the binder cover with Disney stickers, also from Dollar Tree. I think the whole thing cost around $5 to make and held about 200 pins. Too bulky for carrying to parks so she left it in her luggage in the room and just took a few pins each day on her lanyard to trade.

If you have a Five Below Store near you they usually carry cute lanyards. And everything in the store is $5 or less. I think I got DD's for $2 it's pink and says Princess.... Not Disney but still cute and worked for her.

Disney has lanyards from 5.00 on up. I love my 5.00 one as it's nice and soft and doesn't scratch my neck. They also sell metals that clip on bottom of these lanyards. I bought my friend a purple lanyard that had tink on bottom and that was 12.00.

Cheapest Disney lanyard I've found?
28 cent post cards sent to the YOAMD contest. ;) My family has won 3 so far. :cool1: Each come with pins as well.

could you please tell me about these postcards and winning?

OP.....I saw plain lanyards for about 5.00 at Disney. We don't do pins really but I found one I had bought for the 15th bday so that made me at least glance when we were there.

This site has info about where you can send a post card to enter the contest if you will not be traveling to one of the Parks before the end of the year. Click on *View additional information including "no purchase" instructions, on the right, and a window will pop up that gives info and an address to where you can send postcards to enter.

I just gave my last 4 lanyards away at the parks last week.
If you are using your lanyard just to store pins at home you should buy a corkboard at Walmart and hang it on the wall to display your pins. If you need a lanyard for going to the parks then you can pick one up at any dollar store or Walmart etc. They usually sell them in the luggage or accessory area near the purses, but I have seen some near keychains in the jewelry section.
You don't need a fancy store bought lanyard, you can buy some pretty ribbon and sew velcro to the bottom of it and that would be just as nice. the only difference would be the hook at the bottom and if you want that you can sew one on. they sell these hooks at Walmart or sewing or craft stores.

If you buy the lanyard without the pins they are not to expensive at wdw. I bought a mickey lanyard for 5.00 and a mickey medallion for 8.00 at world of disney.

The Disney outlets had some cheap lanyards (with and without pins) last month.

I have a POTC lanyard listed for trade on the trade board.
