Where to find the best rental car rate?

Hi everyone,

We usually drive to WDW in September, but we are traveling after Thanksgiving this year and don't want to take a chance on bad weather (live in the northeast). So, we're going to fly. We've decided to rent a car so we can easily travel around to the resorts to see the Christmas decorations. Plus, we love the convenience of having a car with us at WDW. It's been years since we rented a car and I'm looking for suggestions on where/how to get the best rate. We'll pick up at MCO. Thank you for your help!

Use kayak.com. They'll show you rates from all of the rental car companies in the area.

Also keep an eye for those that are located at the airport vs. Those that "nearby" (which could mean a shuttle ride and some delay vs. those at the airport). I've found Alamo to have some good deals in the past; and if you join their insiders program, you can usually get an additional amount off.

Also check the rental car companies' web sites. I was able to get a great deal on a full size car for 9 days just by going to Enterprise's web site and booking from there.

The deal actually beat the car rental I had booked through Costco!

Are you a Costco member? I find the best rates there, and they give you the top four. Although I just got the same rate on SouthWest's website with bonus miles.

Costco travel has always gotten me the best rates too. Also, a second driver is free when you use them.

this reminded me to check my car rental for january and it had dropped $60! yeah!
i also use costco but check it occasionally to see if it has changed.

Try "car rent savers" - have always found low prices & and never an issue throughout rental process.

I use Costco, I book as soon as I see something acceptable, like $220 or so for a mid SUV for a week. then I keep looking for it to drop. We went last week of October and it dropped to $170. It normally is Alamo that is the cheapest with Costco, at MCO.
