My girls (both under 6) loved to trade pins with the CM's on our last trip. Now we decided that we should keep the favorite pins of the trip and set them aside for the future, but they will need pins to trade, so other than the parks or ebay where do I buy pins for kids to trade?

I just bought some pins today at the Disney Store in our mall. They were in the clearance stuff! Almost all of them were $3.99 and then the additional 50% off!!! They had actually pulled these off the floor since they were getting shipments of the new stuff - I asked if they had them, she said yes and brought me out the huge rubbermaid box to go through!!!!

You're the 3rd person this week that's found clearance pins at the DS. That's it! I'm going tomorrow! :)

When I first started collecting pins I dropped into the Disney Store near us.
The woman said that only parks carry the pins now.
My reaction was like "what?"... "no way."
I think it's a california thing, but also...after reading this I just called them, they usually carry them the lady said...so I dunno who to believe.

I'll drop buy there, and get the story...

Beth nice to read you over here.

Thankyou everyone I will get myself off to the DS this weekend and look.

I knew our Disney Store had alot of clearance pins too so I went yesterday and got 20 -- I only didn't take the ones that were not recognizable characters at all - Some were marked 2.99 and some were 3.99 plus they were 50% off and then I used the 15% off coupon from the wishedgranteddaily site so I got 20 pins and a Tink mug (4.99 then another 50% off) for 36.00.

My daughter who is actually 19 is a huge trader/collector so I try and grab these for her when I can - I am either going to put them in a heart shaped box for her for Valentine's day or save for her bday March 1 which is just a couple of weeks before we head to Disney again!

Interesting site, but I can't seem to find the coupon. I must not have had enough coffee today to get my brain working.

Off to the DS anyway to see what we find.

I hope I'm not braking any rules, but I've had pretty good luck with third-party groups (usually those getting out of the pin trading 'business') over at the "Dizpins Sale Board". I check the Reference Center and haven't had any problems.

Pins for kids.....never heard of that type of trade before! What pins are you looking for? What are the ages of your kids? Maybe we can work out a fair trade.....(someone has to take over these type of postings since AZ Jeff is scarce)

It's not "just" for kids, but the more child like pins or the pin that a child would like more than an adult would. We bought simple small face pins for the girls when at DL a few weeks ago. Most adults would not waste the time and money on such blah pins. Then we the girls would meet up with a "child 12 and underonly" CM pin trader (in DL they have a teal green lanyard) and spend 5 or 10 minutes talking to the CM and working on what to trade.
I love the "child 12 and under only" CM pin traders, they make it easy for the kids.

My girls are 5 and under so I see no need to spend a lot on pins they just swapout for the fun of it. They trade because they like the color of that pin better than the color of the pin they may have. For them it is all about fun, not collecting or trading for the "supper secret only 100 of this pin made" type pins.

Again so it comes back to looking for for a good place to buy tradable simple pins that kids would like. Do they sell these things outside the parks and ebay?
