Where to find informed reviews?

I am looking for a new camera (waterproof, takes video, etc) and I would like to do some research on what is better or worse. I don't need a fancy camera but would like to be informed before I spend the money. Is there some good sites where they compare or review cameras? How else would you start finding a new camera? Can anyone here suggest a waterproof camera?
