Has anyone seen boxes while they were out and about. I have heavy items like sweaters and sweatshirts that need boxes. Seems that was a cost cutting move in some stores this year no boxes!

I haven't been given gift boxes in stores for years but have been able to purchase them pretty much anywhere.
Target, Walmart, CVS, Christmas Tree Shops and Dollar Tree all have gift boxes.

Whenever I buy clothes at a store I ask for boxes and put them away. At Christmas they are almost always out...which I really wonder if they just don't want the added expense. I still didn't have quite enough so I just purchased some at Home Goods while I was out shopping. Michaels usually has them too.

I always scour after Christmas clearance for boxes. You can find them pretty much anywhere. Dollar Tree is a good bet if you need them now.

I usually get them at Walmart or the Dollar Tree. I keep boxes we receive, too, if they are in good shape. I put them in a larger box in the attic, and they come down with the Christmas decorations (yes, i'm cheap).

Macy's has boxes for clothing purchased there.

We have re-used the same boxes for years. We just refold them and store them flat in a big box for the next use. I have boxes from Hecht's and Montgomery Wards as well as Macy's.

Target and Walmart both had tons of them today!

The gift boxes I have the MOST trouble finding are jewely boxes for earrings, necklaces, etc. Can't find them anywhere.

Sports Authority had plenty of boxes, yesterday. JC Penney was out of normal clothing boxes, but gave me 12" square boxes, which is all they had left. Of course, our stock pile under the bed still has dozens upon dozens of boxes that have been re-used for the past 10-15 years, but I still ask for new ones whenever I'm doing Christmas shopping.

Thanks hitting up dollar tree on my way to grocery shop. :headache:

I know Dicks had a TON of boxes sitting by the check out lane when we were there the other day. I asked if I could take a bunch (despite not buying any clothes) and they said by all means.

Walgreens had a nice selection of them. Various sizes and multi packs.

I know of a store that sells watch parts and jewelry findings in an industrial neighborhood in Oakland, California. I went there to get some watch batteries, and it's amazing how cheap the highest quality ones are in bulk, as well as other parts that are hard to find like watch bracelet pins that either break or come loose. I've saved a lot of money just repairing these things myself. They also sell stuff that jewelry stores might need like boxes and small bags. I didn't really need any, but I just decided to get them.

I don't know if you'd want to order these online (and it's probably too late for Christmas) but when I worked close to this place (only open weekdays) anyone could walk in with a $5 minimum purchase. If you buy online, getting a lot of stuff makes sense with regards to shipping.

As for other boxes - dollar stores were mentioned. They always have them, and typically really cheap.

Dollar Tree carries jewelry boxes, had to run by there today and saw a bunch by the gift wrapping paper and sacks.

Their selection can be hit or miss though. A lot of items just disappear all of a sudden. Sometimes it's like shopping at off-price stores.
