Trying to decided between Bome and Jiko... which one is better. I have a 5, 7,and 10 year old if that makes a difference.

Thanks

Boma is a buffet so it enables you to try more things. It is also a more child friendly restaurant. Not that Jiko isn't but it the atmosphere is a little more mature. If it were me I would go to Boma.

Are you going to be on the dining plan? If so, I'd go for Boma since Jiko is two table credits.

I haven't been to Jiko, but Boma works really well for us since there is a great variety of foods, both ethnic and simple (like kids mac n cheese and nuggets.) When it comes to new foods, I'm happier getting to try a little of something versus ordering something I may or may not like. At the same time, I have heard that the food at Jiko is wonderful, so if your family is adventurous, then I'd try there!

It depends on what you are looking for.

Boma is a buffet. It's huge, noisy, and there are tons of choices here. If you are not adventurous, you may not like a lot of the selections, particularly in the soup and vegetable pods. I love the decor here and I love the various pods. The childrens' pod and the dessert pod both offer a great selection.

Jiko is more upscale, quiet, outstanding wine selection. The restaurant is dark and soothing with a slower paced service. For me, the best part of the meals here are always the appetizers, particularly the soups. The entrees and desserts are ok but not at the same level. I would not eat here if I wasn't having appetizers.

Hands down Boma's. You'll love this place much better for your family. The kids will be happier here. :goodvibes

Jiko's should be saved for when it's just the two of you. :lovestruc

Like others have said, it really depends on what you're looking for. The two restaurants are really not comparable. They each have a totally different atmosphere, and the food isn't really comparable either. While Boma is good, (excellent for a buffet), NO buffet is really comparable to a signature restaurant. That being said, have you considered Sanaa? I don't know how adventurous you are foodwise, but the food at Sanaa is excellent, (they also have excellent children's selections) and the restaurant is much more relaxed and child friendly than Jiko (not that Jiko isn't child friendly, just not quite as laid back) and your kids would have a blast looking at the animals from Sanaa.

I have not had the chance to try Boma's dinner but their breakfast buffet is fantastic! :thumbsup2
