I would like suggestions for a table service dinner on our MGM day. The choices in the park are so limited. I was thinking of a late dinner after Fantasmic. Could go to Boardwalk or Epcot?

We LOVED LOVED LOVE Sci Fi, it was a Great time and great food, but then again we aren't very exotic eaters :goodvibes

My favorite place at MGM is 50s primetime. Its food is wonderful and the theme is done so well. But you can always look at allearsnet.com and see the menus for yourself.

We were looking to try something other than the restruants at the park. How long will it take for us to get to Epcot or Boardwalk from MGM?

It take 15 minutes for the ferry ride to Boardwalk from MGM (could be longer if you're leaving the park when everyone else is and you have to wait) or alternatively you can actually walk to the Boardwalk area from MGM which also takes about 15 minutes if you leave the park and head towards where the buses are. There is a path on the right side of the canal that leads right to the Epcot resort area. I walk this all the time, I hardly ever take the ferry unless I'm just too tired to walk.

The Brown Derby is the best restaurant in MGM. If you want to leave the park I suggest the Yachtsman at the Yacht Club.

I know it seems like a love/hate thing, but we really love the sci~fi also. The kids just love it there!

I was going to ask the same thing about counter service in MGM-- we will be there on EMH nite, have ADR's for MM at 6 but thought we might want to get lunch. There doesn't seem to be a decent CS in MGM? So if we wanted to start out at Boardwalk or Epcot for lunch(to use our dining plan) how would we walk over to MGM?

The food, entertainment and service at Prime Time are all outstanding. We were SO full when we left.

Epcot to Boardwalk is a piece of cake. Just go out the "back" way (thru World Showcase, near the UK). A nice little stroll will bring you to Boardwalk on the left and BC/YC on the right.

Still wondering how to get to MGM from there, tho...

Another vote for Sci-Fi. The food was good and we loved the atmosphere

We stayed at the BWI and it's a relatively easy walk from MGM. The boat is sllllooooowwwww. I would try Spoodles or Big River Grille and Brewery, I have heard a lot of people say they loved the food there lately. ESPN Club is there also if you have any sports lovers. We did dinner at the Yachtsman and thought it was good, but overpriced for what it was.

I agree, Sci Fi is fabulous for a TS. How about a decent CS? Any to be found?

You mean from Epcot to MGM?
There's the boat from the International Gateway, but since that has to make three resort stops, you can also walk.
Coming out of Epcot, walk over to BW... then cut through the pool area on the villas side and you'll find a path that goes off to the left. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from there depending on how fast you walk, to MGM.

Personally, my fam loves the 50's cafe, and DH really enjoys the Sci fi (Im not impressed, but I can eat there). If those arent your thing, after the show, leave the park, there are many many choices (epcot, resorts etc...)

We love 50's Prime Time- love the atmosphere and "home cooked" food. I don't like ANY of the counter service places at MGM blech!!!

Here's a picture of my food at Prime Time and my goofy bf in the background- he thought I was taking a picture of him..ha ha
