Where to eat the night we get in?

I already made our reservations for the week, but am looking for suggestions the first night we are there. We fly in from California in January, and our flight won't get in until 5pm. I'm assuming we'll be settled in around 7pm.

We're staying at the All Star Music and are looking to have a table service that night probably around 8pm. Any suggestions for a table service that is close to the All Star Music resort?
Thanks!

When we get in late, we like to go to Downtown Disney that evening for supper at Rainforest Cafe and getting souvinier shopping done. It's a great way to begin the magic the night you arrive! The buses from ASM will take you to DTD, too. Have a magical trip!

this is really cutting it close.....but I was thinking about DTD because most of the restaurants are open .....How about Rainforest Cafe or WGPuck.
Remember that flights sometimes mess up and dont come in as planned....
If you have a rental car how about thinking about AKL and one of their restaurants.

The good news is that in January at 8pm you should be able to get about anything you want. Do you have something in mind?

I would recommend a resort for dinner unless youre planning to go to a park the first night.:)

We won't have a car, so we'll be relying on the buses for transportation.

We weren't going to the parks that night, so I wasn't sure if we'd still be able to take a bus back?
We're pretty flexible on our first night about dinner, whether we use a table service or counter service. So maybe we'll just wing it and see what we feel like when we get there! :)

Honestly that would stress me out too much worrying about delays and making my ADR. We got in late the day we arrived and just ate a counter service. That then left us with an extra table service so we had a late table service breakfast one day (10:15) and skipped lunch so the counter/table service then evened itself out. I was also so excited to be there I wanted to explore the hotel, unpack etc that I didn't really feel like sitting down to eat plus like I said we got there late about 4:30 I think.

That's kind of what I was thinking too. I know that there is the quick sevice food courts in the All Star Resorts that seem like it would be much more conventient. This is our first trip and after a long flight and layover, I think we'll be more comfortable just checking out the resort and relaxing that first night. I think we'll just see what we feel like doing when we get there that night! :) Thanks for all the imput and suggestions!

I wouldn't make an ADR because anything can happen with flights. I would just hit DTD and eat there...you can't go wrong!;)

We fly in from California, and it is a long flight. When we land, we're all pretty hungry. With a rental car, we usually stop to get something to eat before we even check in (though DTD was a mess with NO parking available in August). I'd guess without a car, we'd just grab something at counter service/food court. We're tired and hungry, and having to possibly wait for a bus, and then a table at a restaurant might just push us over the edge. ;)Once we've got something in our stomachs, we're more likely have enough energy to unpack, explore, and enjoy.

The good thing, if you flight comes in on time, the ME is usually not as busy at that time of day. On our last trip our flight got in at 6:15, we were on ME then at the ASMu checked in by 7:15, back on the bus and to MK by about 7:40. It worked GREAT. If you honestly think you want an ADR then make it. If you find your flight is going to be late you can cancel and head for a cs restaurant.

An alternative to Downtown Disney is the Boardwalk area. Big River Grille Works is one of our favorites. The ESPN club is good, too, and relaxing. And the Flying Fish is very popular.

Beaches & Cream is great too!!! Great burgers and ice cream sundaes!!! DD & I have decided to make Beaches & Cream our first meal of the trip from now on! We'll be there for an early lunch on Nov 19!!! We both know already that we want the two scoop vanilla ice cream with marshmallow cream on top! It is SO GOOD!!!!!!
