My friend and I are going to WDW for a girls weekend. We will have a car. I don't want to spend a ton of money (or make my family jealous ;) ) so I'm looking for places to eat dinner outside of the World.

Any suggestions?

You'll find just about any dining venue you can think of just outside the gates. What kind of place are you looking for? Drive-thru? Casual TS? Fancy?

Casual. Is there a map or a list somewhere so I can plan before we get there? I don't want to drive around looking for places to eat while I'm hungry ;)

If you head towards AKL and turn left on Sherberth Road, you'll end up at the 192 where there are a number of restaurants. Cracker Barrel, Bahama Breeze, Panera, and most other chains can be found.

There's a Buffalo Wild Wings not far from DTD as well.

Cicis pizza is pretty good and there are often groupons. Sweet Tomatoes is also good (and healthier) and if you sign up on their website they send you coupons. My favorite is Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney.

In google maps you can just zoom in to the disney area then type "restaurant" and it will pop up about 1000 restaurants in the area.

I also love Millers Ale House.

At Crossroad's there's a Fridays, Buffalo Wild Wings, Unos, McDonalds, Fudruckers, Chevys, and several other places to eat. It's on 535 right past Downtown Disney and the DTD hotels.

As someone said you can find just about every restaurant imaginable nearby. The areas where you fill find most of the places are:

1.Lake Buena Vista area: Basically the area just outside the Downtown Disney area exit of Hotel Plaza blvd, all around Apopka Vineland rd (535) north and south of I-4.

2.Hwy 192 from Apopka Vineland rd west towards the 429 expressway and even beyond to US 27

3.International Drive:runs from Universal Studios and the International Drive premium Outlets on the north south towards the convention center,Sea World and the Vineland ave Premium outlets.

4.Restaurant Row: a stretch of Sand Lake rd west of I-4 and International Drive running to Apopka Vineland rd on the west.

5.Mall at Millenia: inside the mall itself and all around it you can find places to eat, north of Universal studios though,so about 25-30 minutes from Disney

What would be closest to where you're staying as the restaurant options truly are endless of what you can find.

In Celebration they have great restaurants, our favorites are Columbia and cafe D'antonios. Both are wonderful and right by Disney.

Anyone know of a carrabba's?

I think that there is a Carrabba's, right near the outlet mall, Head toward DTD, pass it and down hotel blvd, through the DTD Hotels, when you reach the crossroad, there are several restaurant's right here( I think that there is a red lobster right there as well) at the light turn right go under the highway (I-4) get in the outside left lane to turn at the light where Bahama Breeze is( right past it) follow the road around, it will be on the right hand side, also there is a Panera's on the same road. The outlet mall is really nice and I have gotten some great deals there. I will shopping there in 10 days with my mom. :thumbsup2

The above two posts are the nearest/easiest to get to Carrabba's.

Ale House!! There is one at LBV and one on 192. There are others around Orlando. We like Maggianos at Point Orlando and Giordanos at LBV or on 192.

Yellow Dog Eats - it's in Gotcha, which is fairly close to Disney. Awesome bbq, very cheap

I think you mean Gotha, not Gotcha.I've heard of this place but its away from the tourist areas.I have been meaning to go there.Another place I've wanted to try is Hash House a Go Go on the north end of I Drive. It seems like an upscale Cracker Barrel.

I did! Darn iPhone autocorrect. It's about 15-20 min from Disney.

Hash House is overrated IMO . There are often groupons for it though. Copper Cannon on Idrive is good, but it might be more money than the op wants to spend.
