Where to eat on arrival day?

Where would you choose to eat (outside of a park) on arrival day?

My family (DH, will be 16 month old DS, and I) will be arriving on May 20. We are staying at CSR for 10 days. I would like to have a nice dinner (TS) on our arrivial day that feels like Disney but I don't want to burn a park day with only a half day available. Our flight gets in at 2:30 so I anticipate arriving at CSR around 4 pm. We currently have a reservation at 1900 Park Fare. Is this a good choice? It isn't until 8:30 and I'm concerned about the hour, but I have very few other options. We have reservations for other nights at
Boma
France
Le Cellier
Crystal Palace (Breakfast)
Akershus
50's Prime Time Cafe
Ohana's (Dinner)

I tried to get Chef Mickey's but couldn't. Is 1900 Park Fare a good choice? Any other ideas?

Ohana!!! It is always our first night meal! We end it with Wishes on the Poly Beach or in the MK!

Ohana's was our intention (and I HAD a reservation for 5:30 at Ohana's! We had planned a flight that would get us in around 4 and I got nervous we wouldn't make it. We changed flights to get in earlier. I forgot that we had done that, changed our reservation, and now, of course, it is gone. At least I got another dinner reservation so we will be able to go there, just not on the first night. I'm going to keep calling, though!

There are so many restaurants. Cape May Clam Bake and Boma are good buffets but not character. Ohana is always fun. There's always Planet Hollywood or Rain Forest down town. 1900 is ok but I don't think the food is that great.

is another choice. You can still the beach feel and a view of the MK.

With an arrival that early, won't you want something else to do, besides dinner? How about spending the evening at DTD & having dinner at Raglan Road?

1900 Park Fare is good. You will see Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Anastacia, and Drizilla with dinner. It is fun.

When you are trying to get a reservation for somewhere that is all booked (like CM), one tip is to call around the 45 day mark from your trip. That is when packages have to be paid in full, and some people might need to cancel.

1900 has great characters, but we haven't had much luck with the food. (That's just our opinion). I might be more concerned, like you said, with the late reservation time.

We like to be at the parks early, and with younger kids, we like to use arrival day to take it easy so we are ready to go that first full day. After traveling all day, we like to go to DTD, do an early dinner and go back to the resort to relax.

My favorite park to go to on traveling day is MK... 1900 was great when I went! and GF is so close to MK - if thats where youre planning on going..

We weren't thrilled with the food either at 1900 Park Fare, but the atmosphere is wonderful. When we have a late arrival, I too don't like to burn a ticket so we usually will head over to DTD and do Rainforest and some shopping then back to the resort for some pool time and a fairly early bed to get a fresh start for the 1st full day of Parks.
