I was trying to get some ADRs for a sit down dinner for Oct 19 but nothing is available. What's my best bet to get some? keep checking the site? call? or wait till I get there and see about cancellations?

1) You might want to try less-used eateries
. . . The Wave, Contemporary
. . . Grand Floridian Cafe, GF

2) During the party, the other open park eateries are
. . . Casey’s Corner (hot dogs & fries)
. . . Main Street Sweets (candy)
. . . Aloha Isle (frozen treats)
. . . Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café
. . . Golden Oak Outpost (quick bites)
. . . Westward Ho (quick bites)
. . . Frontierland Turkey Legs
. . . Sleepy Hollow (funnel cakes)
. . . Pizza Cart
. . . Mrs. Potts Cupboard (ice cream)
. . . Friar’s Nook (quick bites)
. . . Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe (hamburgers & chicken)
. . . The Lunching Pad at Rockettower Plaza (quick bites)
. . . Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies (smoothies)

I would not take up the time with a sit down dinner during a party. You only have a limited amount of time during a party and there is so much going on - special shows, special fireworks, special parades - that are not shown during regular MK time. I would suggest either eating a larger meal before you head in and then snack during the party - or eat at a CS place.

I don't think there are any TS restaurants in MK open during the party, if thats what you're looking for. If you want TS in MK, you'd have to do it before 7pm. We ate at Cosmic Rays during the party, around 9pm, and it was very busy. I'd eat before the party starts if I go again.

We never eat during the party we always eat to be done before 4 and then just grab a snack at the party. We don't want to waste any party time.

This sounds like a resounding theme, and a good idea since there's also the fact that some hard to get on rides are walk on we might try to do a couple rides. It's our first night there though so who knows. We'll probably grab something to eat first maybe at the hotel or CRSC.

If we ever go to the party again, I would eat right before we go to the party and only do must-do rides if the lines were short. We wasted time eating during the party and waiting in line for rides, and didn't get to do all the party stuff we wanted to do. We weren't well prepared for how long the waits would be for everything.

I'd eat before and not waste time. Went in '05 and lines were short. Went on BTMR like 3x in a row no lines.

Unfortunately that hasn't been the case this year for many. Around 20 minute wait for most rides in my experience, and in many others' experience. The party seems to be catching on.

I would eat before and NOT waste the party time.Reports of the party crowds this year have been alot more than in previous years.

Do you think we should be OK with a 5:15 'Ohana reservation before MVMCP? Or do we need to eat earlier?

Since you can get into the park on your party ticket any time after 4PM I would advise eating dinner as early as possible or grabbing something in MK before the party officially starts. With a 5:15 dinner reservation at 'Ohana you will be trying to swim upstream against the departing day guests when you get to MK.
