hi fellow disers and food porn lovers - i am planning a girls trip for this october and can't really decide on a restaurant for the magic kingdom. the group will consist of me (23) my sister (25) and our mom and grammy. we are definately NOT interested in a character meal. last time we were all in WDW we just had counter service pizza in MK, which altough was unbelievably good pizza, we want to treat ourselves to a proper meal this time. any suggestions? thanks in advance, food is really important to my family! (notice that we will be in the world during the food and wine festival!)

I would look at the menus on allears.net. There are many restaurants in WDW and many are good. There are many ethnic places as well and everyone has different tastes. Food and Wine Fest is fun - we were there the past 2 years but they are basically snacks not meals. Yes you could eat around the countries, but it's not a sit down meal. Look and see menus for ideas and if you have a question on a specfic place you can ask and you will get many responses!

:) In the MK I would suggest the Plaza Restaurant great sandwiches then out the door for a great spot to watch wishes or Liberty Tree Tavern. It is no longer a character meal and is pretty good IMO--it is all you can eat American food served at your table. Then there is Columbia House. While a counter service restaurant it is very nice with great chowder and neat sandwich selection-not your typical burger and fries. Right across from the Haunted Mansion--there is even a nice dinning room upstairs.

Have a great time!!

Would you consider hopping on the monorail to a resort? I have heard Kona is good - we are going there in June. I've eaten at California Grill which was also very good.

I have eaten at the Plaza and it has been good, but I just have a difficult time getting excited about the restaurants at MK. Not sure why.

I don't think MK has any places that are that great. They have lots of fun/yummy places, but it seems you aren't looking for that for this ADR. Like a pp suggested, I would head over to a resort. We're doing CP one night and looking forward to trying The Wave the next. Good luck! I've also eaten at Citrico's which was great.

I'd jump on the monorail and try Kona Cafe, or Ohana, or Tea at the Grand Floridian, or any of the other restaurants in the hotels on the monorail loop. Or, you could do a quick boat ride to WL and eat at Artist Point. All yummy choices.
