This is our 2nd trip and we are going during the busiest time (nothing will deter us :) :) ) Were were wanting to go to MK the night of Christmas and have dinner. Do you think we could even get in at night (they are open till midnight) or will the park most likely still be closed for too many guests? Also, where should we eat? We have 2 children who will be 3 and 6. Also, I would like something for Christmas eve.

Thanks - jenn

I don't think I would count on an MK ADR on Christmas night unless you are willing to go early in the day and stay all day, just in case they close the park.

What about a dinner reservation at one of the monorail resorts (GF, Poly, Contemporary, or even WL) and then you would be close to MK if you want to try to get in, but you wouldn't risk not having anywhere to eat?

We spent Christmas 2007 @Disney....your right to expect it to be very crowded...as long as you are prepared you'll be alright.
We had the Candlelight Processional Package @EPCOT Christmas Eve and ate @The Biergarten in Germany (added bonus the show there they told the story of the song Silent Night, very Christmasy!)
We didn't plan on any parks Christmas day...leisurly opened our presents from Santa in our room (@Pop...) toured the monorail hotels to look at their decorations and ended up @The Wilderness Lodge where we had Christmas dinner @Artist's Point. My brother and sister-in-law did head over to MK after dinner and didn't have any problem getting in...in fact they said they walked right on to some rides! Good Luck! :santa:

We have been to wdw for xmas week the last four years. we have made a point of not going to any park on xmas day...too crazy. 2005, we had breakfast (late 10:30am) at BOMA and then went to DTD for a movie and had xmas dinner at Artist Point in WL, it was beautiful and put you in the xmas spirit(sitting by the freplace and having cookies and punch before adr). 2006 we went to CP for xmas eve with dinner in Japan, then xmas day had breakfast at 1900PF(great food, atmosphere and characters including Mad Hatter and Mary Poppins, Pooh, Tiger and Alice) and shopped at DTD and then very late dinner at CG (9:15pm) but got there early enought to see Wishes!-great food and wonderful view of MK. Last year we went back to !1900PF for breakfast, then went to ICE! at Gaylord Palms Hotel and dinner at Boma. Great all 3 times and didn't miss the craziness of the parts for the holiday. We miss xmas this year, but wil be doing NYE and day(we will be at epcot or DHS for NYE). CG really is not that kid friendly, but there were young ones there; Boma, 1900pf and Artist Point are great for the young ones.

If you wish to go to a park, I would avoid MK, it has closed to all guests(including resort guests), by 10am each of the last 4 xmas day...like I said we avoid parks and enjoy the holiday.

thanks guys!!! my kids would love to ride the monorail and such to look at different decorations so i think that is what we will do. if we happen to be able to get in to mk great if not that is ok. thanks so much for your help. we are trying new restaurants this time too so that makes it more exciting :D

We spent Dec.20-26, 2007 in WDW. We stayed at AKV. About 5pm on X-mas eve, we noticed Mickey & Minnie dressed in their holiday outfits, signing autographs & posing for pics. with guests in the lobby. We were all dressed up to go to 1900 PF for dinner so we stopped & got pics. with them. They looked great!

Santa was there as well, posing for pics. by the huge X-mas tree.

We avoided parks on Christmas Day & had breakfast at 'Ohana & Christmas dinner at Chef Mickey's. (We let DS9 pick the meals for that day).
