Where to eat for a sensitive stomach

I can't wait to experience Disney for the first time and have been looking at different places to eat and am a little nervous about where to go. I have an extremely sensitive stomach. I cannot tolerate any spices. Things like onion and garlic upset me also. I have to keep my food pretty bland and there are so many restaurants but the menus seem to be pretty flavorful. I am afraid that my whole trip is going to be eating counter service salads and burgers, or I will be devouring tums like crazy. I would appreciate any suggestions on good places to eat that would cater to this fussy stomach of mine.

We understand that issue. I have to avoid spicy and garlic at all costs - I can't even do what most people would consider mild spice. A buffet may be good like the Crystal Palace so you can pick and choose, just avoid the Paella. My fiance got that one night and it was way too spicy.
50's Prime Time Cafe might be a good option too - meatloaf, pot roast, etc. Nothing too exotic. He gets the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and I usually get the sampler platter. The same with Sci-Fi if you want a good burger and a nice atmosphere.
We both have some food issues and also enjoy the Biergarten and Raglan Road. The Biergarten is a buffet also so you can pick and choose there. The pretzel bread is good, beet salad, spaetzle, potato dumplings, some carved meat. We had the Sheppard's Pie at Raglan Road and that was excellent.
Those are the restaurants we normally stick too.
We tried 1900 Park Fare which is a buffet and were not too pleased with that.
I have also noticed that while at Disney I do better because I am on vacation and not stressed out as when I am working everyday. On our last trip, my issues subsided a bit....

It might be helpful to describe what kinds of food you are able to eat. Then we can make suggestions on where you might find similar things. :) By "cannot eat any spices" do you mean just spicy foods (as in, hot) or all spices (including things like cinnamon, cumin, saffron, etc. that are not associated with "heat")? What about herbs (basil, oregano, thyme, cilantro), which are sometimes lumped into the spice category?

My DH had a very bland meal at Le Chefs de France....roast chicken, home fried potatoes and steamed broccoli.

Just ask to leave off sauces and try to substitute sides whenever possible.

Thank you for the suggestions. I don't eat any seasoning/spice except salt on occasion. Even pepper if too much is hard for me to eat. I can't eat cinnamon or nutmeg either. It makes eating out very difficult. I tend to stick to meat and potato type meals as long as I make sure they haven't put any kind of rub on the meat or garlic in the potato. I avoid Italian and Mexican because of all the seasoning. Buffets have a lot of options but table service gives me the opportunity to ask for my meal to be cooked a certain way without seasoning. It is hard because I love the taste of food that has lots of flavor but if I do eat it I am paying for it for hours to days later so do not want to ruin my trip. I always ask a million questions at restaurants so am prepared to do so at Disney but just thought those who have been there could give me some ideas so thank you.

I think you'll be fine at just about any restaurant in that case. You'll just need to speak to your server and very clearly define what it is you need due to food sensitivities. Pretty much every TS on property has chicken, beef, etc. that could be prepared without seasoning if requested. Potatoes are definitely widely available in TS restaurants. It sounds as though you are going to have to make a special request no matter where you go...so you should be okay anywhere! Disney is very accommodating. You might want to note on your ADRs that you have food sensitivities.

The best advice I can give you is ask to speak with the Chef. For anyone who has allergies, the Chef comes out and helps you plan your meal. While yours isn't an allergy, it is a food intolerance. I'd speak with the Chef and explain what you need. :) I have several allergies (10+ things I can't eat) and have never had a problem at WDW. They're great and everything they have managed to make me, I've always enjoyed.

I agree. My husband doesn't like any kind of sauce (except ketchup or BBQ) on his meat so he asks for things "naked". Any place at Disney will take a slab of whatever and just grill it up for you. Ask for a baked potato and a plain salad and you are good to go. Any place will do that for you.

Even at the buffets a chef will come out and walk you around the buffet pointing out "safe" foods for your particular sensitivity.

:thumbsup2 Yes, they will :) I always have a Chef come and show me around the buffet and point out which foods are safe. I've also had them offer to make me something without the particular thing I'm allergic to, even if I'm just worried about cross contamination :)
