I thought I had done my homework, and have dinner reservations at Crystal Palace on a Halloween party night. Truth is, I'm not wild about the Crystal Palace. We've been several times. The food is okay, but we're just not big pooh fans. I don't really want to leave the park and then come back either (though if we stay at the Contemporary, we could walk there for California Grill). I don't want something that will take up too much time during this party night. What are your favorite places to eat dinner at the MK? Liberty Tree? The Plaza? Tonys? I've only ever Tried Crystal Palace inside the park. If counter service is a better option, I love to hear all about the great ones. Thanks.

Tony's a good choice DD loved the chic parm. Cosmic ray's good variety, entertainment was fun. Me :goofy: DW :tink:DS :smickey:DD :mickeybar

We did the Plaza for MVMCP in '09 and were in and out in less time than qs would take. Loved it. For MNSSHP this year we're heading over to GFC for a 5 pm ADR. We're spending the day at MK and 5 is when they open for dinner. Did CP last year for MNSSHP(with my 3 yo nephew and family) and as usual, the food was less than stellar. Won't do that again. Not so much bad food as a near empty food bar for a long time. LTT is a great choice, especially if you love Thanksgiving food.

If you want to eat in the park I think your best bet is Tonys or the Plaza...we love them both.

Counter service is good too but can get super busy and have long lines

What we prefer to do on a party night is have a 5pm dinner at one of the MK resorts and head over to the party around 7, by then most of the crowds getting in and getting out are pretty much over with. The Wave, Citricos and GFC are the best for doing this type of planning

We're doing exactly that. Have tickets for 10/2 and a 5:30 ADR at Citricos. We're at BLT so it's a convenient monorail ride to the GFR and then to MK.

Thanks so much. I had thought about the Wave for dinner ... or Chef Mickeys. But didn't know if we should leave the park. I'm not super crazy about Crystal Palace. I was worried about Liberty Tree because of people saying it tasted like frozen TV dinners. Thanks for all the information.

We usually eat early either at the Contemporary or Polynesian at about 2:30pm, then head over to the party at for 4 pm entry into the park. That way we don't take away from the party fun!

LTT has always been a favourite of ours for a TS dinner inside the MK. I don't think it tastes like TV dinners at all, and I'm fussy about my turkey dressing!

But as a break from the crowds, I think an early dinner at a monorail restaurant is a great idea. If the signature restaurants seem a bit too much (especially if you have younger children), then Kona Cafe or Ohana's might be a better fit. Or Captain's Grille.

For TS, I like Tony's. They have good food, atmosphere, and service. IMHO, however, I would do a CS on party night to get the most out of it. Colombia Harbor House is good and usually not too crowded. Pecos Bill has good food too, but is a little more hectic and crowded. Have fun!

For CS we love Columbia HArbor House. For TS, I'd go with Plaza. We don't like Tony's.
I think it's a nice idea to eat at a monorail resort if you want to take a break from the park. We haven't eaten dinner at GF, but we have had lunch and breakfast there are really liked it.

1900 Park Fare has a fabulous dinner buffet, complete with characters, and it's a very easy commute. It's our favorite character event, and we hit it every trip.

Inside the MK we really enjoy Tony's and the Plaza. In fact we have done Tony's three times before parties at the MK.

Outside the MK, we like to do an early dinner at 1900 Park Fare or Kona. We love 'Ohana, but its not an easy in, easy out kind of place and I don't think they begin serving until 5:00.

I have learned after doing quite a few parties, eating inside the MK is pretty convenient and all I do now.

Tony's is gross. It was by far the worst meal we've had in our 10 day trip. The other day i asked my son what was the worst meal at disney, and he said "Tony's" without skipping a beat! haha! He had the spag&balls, i had the chicken parm. Gross. I tried his meatball and had to spit it into a napkin. I think something was wrong with their tomato sauce. Anyway, Liberty Tree dinner is AMAZING!! I dont think it tastes like tv dinners....but thats just my opinion. It really is yummy. The Plaza is another great choice. Simple but delicious food. You cant go wrong with either choice.
I wasnt crazy about the food at chef mickeys to be honest. Quality isnt very good. And i found the atmosphere to be dreadful. But to each his own right? :thumbsup2

Among the Magic Kingdom table service restaurants I have been to Liberty Tree Tavern, Tony's Town Square and The Plaza. When it comes to having dinner at those locations the only one I have been to during that time is Tony's and thought it was very good. When I have been to Liberty Tree Tavern and The Plaza it was only during lunch.
