Here are my recommendations:

US -
Counter service:
Louie's in the NY Section is very good pizza and pasta, it is their pizza is NY Style and by the slice (unlike the personal pizza at the rest of the restaurants)

Table service:
Finnegan's is good if you like Irish food (or beer).

IoA -
Counter service:
Thunder Falls Terrance is good if you like barbeque.
Comic Strip Cafe has food for everyone (pizza, burgers, hotdogs, chinese, etc)

Table service:
I've heard great things about Mytho's, I've personally never been there so I can't speak for it. The other table service is Confisco's Grille which I enjoy, they have brick oven pizzas, fajitas, and other items, as well as amazing decor.

I agree with your list although I usually get the Chicken Tortilla Wrap at Thunder Falls Terrace. Mythos is excellent!

It's funny but we usually end up Richter's when we're at the Studios. They just have standard themepark hamburgers but it's better than Mel's. There's a great bakery at the entrance to the Studios too. Otherwise, we like to walk over to Citywalk for lunch.

I second the recommendation of Thunder Falls Terrace. I also hope to like the Three Broomsticks.

Mythos was good. Husband didn't like that there were only 2 sliders but did say they were good.
I think it's worth it to exit and renter the park if you have a fast walking group. We really liked Hard Rock.
Mel's IMO was a bit dirty ad WAY too crowded.

We are staying 6 days and are planning to do one counter service and one table service a day. We are pretty sure about our table service but unsure about which counter service. Can you give your educated opinions as this is my families first trip.

Sunday Thunder Falls
Monday Wimpy's
Tuesday Louie's and Mel's Drive-In (I thought the kids would like the theming)
Wednesday We are eating pool side at HRH
Thursday Pastamore Market Cafe
Friday Blondie's
Saturday Richter Burgers

At least once we will go and have a volcano nachos at Margaritaville. One will easily feed three people for lunch. Cheap, yummy and quick.

Sunday Thunder Falls - Excellent choice!
Monday Wimpy's - haven't eaten there.
Tuesday Louie's and Mel's Drive-In (I thought the kids would like the theming) - Louie's is very good...Mel's is hit or miss for me.

Thursday Pastamore Market Cafe - haven't eaten there.
Friday Blondie's - GOOD sandwiches!
Saturday Richter Burgers - Hit or miss for me.

My answers inserted.

Richter's is way better than Mel's (although Mel's themeing is nicer).

I also agree with the poster who recommends stepping outside the parks if you want something on the special side.

Mythos, sadly, is slipping. In the new edition of the Universal Orlando guidebook, we demoted it to runner-up status in the list of IOA bests.

Interesting... Also, a shame.

Isn't Wimpy's closed almost all the time though?

Best place we've ever eaten at Universal is NBA City. Very good food!. We will exit the park in October and have lunch there!

If you don't want to exit:

Louie's/Richter's
Mytho's/Thunder Falls

We've tried about everything in the parks and some in City Walk...this year based on some of the responses I've gotten to a similar question a while back we are going to try Margaritaville in CW. Saw some pics of the food (looks great):)

When IOA first opened Mythos was amazing, not just for theme park food but for food all around. They reduced portion sizes, eliminated more "foodie" type food to offer more mainstream fair, and they really killed the dessert menu.

It's still good, but it used to be amazing with a level of artistry and presentation that was just awesome.

So.. where to eat otherwise?

I agree with most people who go for Richter Burger in Uni. Also Thunder Falls. I used to love Enchanted Oak *pout, cry*

Also Cafe 4 isn't bad at all, nor are most places along Comic Strip Lane. All else faisl, double back to the Croissant Moon bakery at the entrance to IOA. It previously had good small snacks, sandwiches, and such. Not sure if that's still the case, but it used to ;)
