Where to eat at Hollywood Studios?

Another vote for Pizza Planet here. It is the only CS we will eat @ the Studios. Commisary is absolutely horrible!!

I had the grilled vegetable sandwich at Backlot Express and it was my favorite CS meal of my whole vacation. Really tasty. My DD wasn't crazy about the nuggets. I can't remember what my DH had, maybe the salad, but he liked it.

HS is near the Boardwalk area. There are several restaurants and resorts but mostly TS. There is a bakery on the boardwalk that sells sandwiches. It shouldn't take too long to get there and back. You could either walk or take the boat. Beaches and Cream is supposed to be delicious but since they don't take reservations you could waste a big chunk of time. It is not a CS anyway. Hope that helps.

I think ABC should stick to TV, not chicken nuggests. I have tried it twice with several years between. No change. I remember long waits, mediocre selection, and soggy fries. Fries should be easy. Come on now.

Pizza Express will do in a pinch for CS. Peaches and Cream is a good call, but getting there early is a must. The boardwalk has nice brewery. Of course, any brewer is a hero in my book!

CS for speed, or for cheap? You can always use a TS place and limit your spending. Might be a touch more, but it would be a slice of pizza versus a BTL or tuna club type thing. Unless you are on a meal plan, then your locked in.

My vote goes to the Backlot Express. It is our favorite CS in the whole "world". The grilled turkey sandwhich.. yumyumyum!!!!

We are pass holders so we just hop the boat over to Epcot and eat there . We love to grab a ham and cheese at the French Bakery OMG so delish !

If you just have to eat at the Studios eat a Turkey leg and get it over with :wizard:

You could hop the boat to Epcot, but none of the Epcot resorts on the boat ride have a CS place. So that would be a waste of your time.

OK honestly, the studios have your most basic CS foods. Backlot express has fine burgers and chicken nuggets. You can also get a fine burger at the Commissary - not sure who told you it was bad. It actually has the best dessert of all the CS meals - the Strawberry Parfait. YUM! Next time we go, we're going to eat here. We also don't mind Pizza Planet or Rosie's. But it is all your standard CS fare. I wouldn't waste time searching for another CS. Just enjoy the park :)

We usually eat at the Studio Catering Co...the chicken wrap is really good! :goodvibes It has tons of seating...but all seating is outdoors, so if it is really hot and you want some air conditioning, I would recommend Pizza Planet. We have eaten at Rosie's, but it is basic burgers and nuggets and seating is hard to find during busy times.
I haven't tried Backlot Express...I may have to give it a try next time. :thumbsup2

starring rolls is actually pretty good and remains the only counter service at DHS that I've ever actually enjoyed. It's around the corner from the Brown Derby. They have a good ham sandwich and fantastic desserts. Nobody ever seems to go there - i guess because it looks like just a pastry shop. Anyway, the food is good and generally uncrowded.

ABC Commissary is the absolute worst meal I've ever eaten at WDW. Stay FAR FAR away.

Toy Story Pizza Planet is acceptable if unremarkable. The pizza is exactly like all the other pizza in the World. :confused3 It'll do in a pinch though.

Stay away for ABC Commisary!! none of us enjoyed that meal at all! it was horrible, greasy and just plain bad.

If we eat a CS, we like Pizza Planet or Rosie's. Basic fast food kinda place. We'll be heading back to Pizza Planet in June.

If it were me, and I didn't want to eat in the park I would ride the boat over to the boardwalk and grab something at the bakery, or just head over to epcot and hit WS, lots to choose from there:thumbsup2

We are definitely in the minority. Pizza Planet is our least favorite cs at DHS. The pizza is not that great (but I think it is the same as all WDW pizza). (but, IMO the only good pizza at WDW is the flatbread pizza in some of the foodcourts and the pizza at WPE.) The salads at Pizza Planet are good though and the theming is fun. We have enjoyed ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, and Studio Catering Company - they are all fine for cs. Never Eaten at the CS over on Sunset Blvd., but I have passed through there and everything looked and smelled great. I think the problem with DHS is there is nothing that really stands out as exceptional or different....like MK has Cosmic Rays' ribs, and El Pirata y el Perico's tacos, AK has Flame Tree's ribs, and Yak and Yeti's asian combos, Epcot has so many good choices. Really DHS isn't bad...it just lacks a standout like the other parks.

Pizza Planet is a must do for us on every trip! You at least have to try it once. :)

we usually do pizza planet. the kids love toy story so they think it's neat to eat at pizza planet. I think the food it okay. Pizza and salad.

I loke Studio Catering Co. They have a great BBQ sandwich served on a hoagie bun. Backlot Express has the best fries I've had at WDW. The burger was meh. PP is alright but about the quality of school pizza. ABC Commissary is the only place the Dis has scared me out of trying.

For me ABC Commissary is not just the worst dining experience I've had at WDW but perhaps the worst dining experience I have ever had. Yes, it was that horrible. What I have found just as bad as the food is the who cares attitude by the management there. I politely complained(the only place in WDW I ever have) about the food and was not offered another item, refund, or even an apology.

If you must do a cs at HS i would go to Pizza Planet. I didn't find it to be horrible but it was nothing to jump up and down for either. Average I guess would be the word I would use.

If you have the time and a park hopper I would head on a boat over to Epcot and get my cs there. Tangierine Cafe in Morocco and Sunshine Seasons over in the Lands are very very good for cs.

We did pizza planet and we really liked it. We didn't expect gourmet so we were pleased. Only thing is DS harrased us that he wanted to play in the arcade. Ummm......no! I'm not spending money on it and we didn't come to Disney to play video games. He plays enough of that at home. (Well not really that often but ya get the point :lmao:)

Next time we will try Sci Fi. :goodvibes It looks like fun adn I hear good reviews if you do lunch adn stick to burgers!
