Our plane doesn't land in Orlando until 3:15pm... usually after check in we spend our first day/evening at DTD... but this year we will be buying/validating our APs, so we were thinking of going right into MK. Any suggestions? Should we stick with DTD or MK, and where should we eat? Where do you usually go for your first meal?

What time is MK open until on your night of arrival? If it is open until 10:00, I'd go there with your kids and eat there...if even only a counter service meal. We normally eat at Emeril's at Universal our first night in Florida. This year, as Hollywood Studios has extra evening hours and we land around 11:30 p.m., we are dining at Mama Melrose with the Fantasmic Package.

If it were me, I would eat at Chef Mickey's. You can take the monorail over one stop and have dinner and go back to the park after to watch fireworks. I feel like Chef Mickey's always puts you in the spirit. It is a great way to start a vacation and also a great meal. Depending on appetites, you can go light or heavy! Have fun!

We've only been to WDW once and had dinner at Citrico's our first night. We are planning our 2nd trip for May 2009 and will be having dinner there again on our first night. It will be our tradition from now on :goodvibes Personally if your tradition is doing DTD your first night then go for it! I'm a creature of habit though :lmao:

The last few trip we've eaten at DTD (Rainforest Cafe). Then we head to MK to see Wishes. It's been a tradition since our first trip!

WE ALWAYS EAT at Chef Mickey's our first night. It depends if Magic Kingdom is open late on your arrival day. . . . and if so then you should take the monarail to the Contemporary Resort and eat at Chef Mickey's. But if MK isnt open late then you should stick with DTD and eat at a quick Earl Of Sandwich.

We like to relax a bit on our first night there and save up all the energy we can for the week, we tend to eat at DTD or one of the resorts. This year our first night will be dinner at Jiko, a relaxing dip in the pool and then wind down for the evening in our room discussing all our excitement for the coming day!

whatever u decide ...make your dining reservation for much later than u fly in, we missed the luau last yr because our plane was delayed, and we had paid in full in advance on a credit card for it
