Where to donate Ornaments?

I have collected way too many Ornaments over the years and I'm trying to get rid of the extras. I'd buy them on sale thinking I'd give them away but seem to accumulate more than give. Lots of Barbie ornaments I collected thinking my girls would enjoy them some day but now convinced they won't. Lots of Disney ones too. Kids do enjoy them and they are always a hit with my little nieces and nephews when I give them away so trying to think of a good place where they might could use them to decorate a tree but also maybe give them to kids if they want to keep them.

Only place I've thought of is Ronald McDonald House and I can call them to see what the interest would be but wanted some other ideas.

Do you have a woman's shelter in your area? I am sure they would be HAPPY to take them especially since they often help people set up new homes.

I have a big bag of Christmas stuff ready to go to Easter Seals this week. I've been trying to get rid of extra stuff lately and I've also donated to St. Vincent de Paul and Goodwill. They all have their own rules for what they will accept, so I use all 3.

I donated mine to the residential group home for troubled teens (girls) where my DD used to work when I moved out of my house and in with my DD's family.. Everything went - trees, lights, ornaments; etc. Otherwise the "only" decorations they would have had was whatever they could construct out of colored paper and glue..

Nursing homes might appreciate donations, too.

What about Habitat for Humanity? I'm sure they have a place that they direct the families to for furnishings and stuff but I bet you Holiday decor is not high in the list of needed things.

Or ask your town hall if there is a family in need and maybe get them a tree and provide the trimmings?
