My family of 5 wanted to take a 4 day cruise in September. We are DVC members, so I wanted to see which would be better to do: use the points or book it on my own and rent out our points for this year.

Can anyone point me to where I can find out the best/cheapest prices for cruises?

I suggest that you request quotes from as many agencies as you know of. The reason is because some agencies have 'group rates' for select dates that are exclusive to a particular agency. In my research for my April, 05 7 day, I found a group rate from Barb at Platinum Vacation Planners that was $1400 less than other quotes. It certainly does pay to shop around. I also used cruisecompete.com and received three quotes within 24 hours.

Do you mean September of this year? I would request quotes soon, that's only a couple of months away!

I think you would have to contact DVC to find out what the point conversion would be and if it was worth it to you or not.

Welcome to the DIS!

I checked out Dreams Unlimited and the DVC point chart. We would end up using 500 points just for 1 4 day cruise, so I didn't think that was worth it. Our other quote was for over $3000. It seemed like a lot to me, but hey I've never cruised with Disney.

Thanks for everyone's help.
