Hi - any suggestions on where to add on points? We currently have a direct contract at Riviera, thinking may just add more points there but would like any ideas you all have. Thanks I’m advance.

If I were to buy direct I'd want a deal...You just missed a pretty sweet promo.

AKL just had $45 off per point (200pts), plus another discount to sell back 2022 pts for $22/pt... so something like $143 pp for 200 points...

These deals come up from time to time.

Thanks for the suggestion. We did decide against that due to the shorter expiration. We are mostly between grand flo and riv

Without more information, no one can give you a complete answer.

For example: How many points? If a relative few, then add on where you already own.

Do you like split stays? Then buy elsewhere.

Can you travel more often for shorter trips? Then buy elsewhere.

Do you want to be close to the Magic Kingdom? Then buy at VGF.

We own at 3 because we go multiple times a year, like to mix things up, and see advantages to all 3 resorts. But what’s best for us might be terrible for someone else.

Again, what are you looking for when you buy more points. The more information you provide, the better we can offer suggestions.

We are local. Own currently 300 at riviera. We go for short weekend stays mostly, go to parks sometimes but also enjoy the resorts.

Given that additional info, I'd add VGF for the 11 mo. monorail advantage since you already have easy access to EP and DHS from RIV.

You could likely get a VGF2 resort studio or VGF 1br pretty easily at 7 months much of the year, but if you want a VGF1 deluxe studio or 2-3 bedroom, the 11 month advantage is crucial.

But, I'm admittedly biased, because virtually all our points are VGF. Lovely villas there.

Or, to get adventurous, wait and add Poly Tower at the current member on-sale.

With the addition of the second phase of VGF, it’s definitely much easier to book a studio at VGF than it used to be.

I think waiting for Poly Tower is a great idea!

I’d buy at VDH if you like going to DL too every now and then. You can always use them at 7 months at WDW whereas it will possibly be more difficult to use your WDW points at DL.

I’d go with VGF then…just to give you a different home me resort for any time you do want to book something well in advance.

I would go with VGF over RIV. You already have enough RIV to work with for trips. VFG gives you a monorail/MK resort since you already have a skyliner resort. VFG doesn’t have resale restrictions, will hold value better, and is currently cheaper.

Another idea might be adding just enough points to get a holiday season weekend or midweek 2-3 days. That one would depend, of course, upon your resort preference at Christmastime--WL or GF. Reason I suggest those is that they are the Christmas decoration resorts most consider best, whichever the preference.

I would actually consider a small BRV contract if you prefer the WL holiday theming to the GF's. The tree there was much prettier than the WL tree the year we did a BRV Fri-Sat, I thought. It held court gloriously in the center of the BRV lobby, not impinged upon by other decorations, too many people walking through or gawking, etc.

It's also hard not to stay at VGF where those sumptuous GF decorations delight so many.

Me? I'd go for the VGF add-on which would give you enough points to grab a few days in December at BRV at 7 mos. if you haunt online booking somewhat. Best of both.

Hmmmm, enough for a Copper Creek Cabin? Okay, that may be rather much... But, just think how snuggly one would be during the chilly months of the year....for a holiday party or family gathering?

Thank you for the insight. We are spur of the moment, off times type people because we are local. Looking to add 200 points, will most likely just add more at Riviera. We never book more than 6 months in advance, our jobs are too busy to know when and where and how much time we will have. Thank you again.

Since you are spur of the moment vacationers, then it doesn’t matter where you buy.

But you might want to consider a different Use Year, so you can book a last-minute trip without worrying about the banking window.
