Hi, everyone!! :goodvibes

Where can you buy a bathing suit this time of year without resorting to an online purchase? I wanted to purchase a MiracleSuit bathing suit but I'd preferably like to try a suit on first. I went to a department store and it's all seasonal apparently! Don't people go on vacation in the winter?? I thought they'd at least have a small supply at least. :confused3

Any recommendations? I have hips that I'd like to hide so where I could purchase something would be really appreciated! :goodvibes

I am having the SAME problem! I was hoping i'de be able to find clearance stuff in stores but no luck :( There are a bunch of websites with cute ones, but as far as stores go all i have found so far is Dicks Sporting Goods and a store called Everything But Water (i think thats the name). Its expensive but i think that's my only option left!

It just doesn't make any sense to me!! :confused3

Well, for many parts of the country, swimsuits are seasonal items!

If you don't have a sporting goods store or swimwear store in your town, I think you're going to have to break down and buy something online. I love Land's End swimsuits. They're great quality and run pretty true to size (if you wear a size 10, the swimsuit would be size 10). They have tons of different options, including cute cover-up skirts and shorts if you want to hide your hip area. Plus, this time of year, they have many swimsuits on clearance!

Special tip: If you try a Land's End suit and don't like it (or it doesn't fit), you can take it to your local Sears store and they will return it to Land's End for you for free - no return shipping fee! Sears partners with Land's End now and this is a tip many people don't know about.

Good luck!

I know you said you don't want to order a swimsuit online, but you should definitely check out eddiebaueroutlet.com. Really great prices on their swimwear this time of year, as well as come cute coverups. I have a couple swimsuits from there and they have lasted me.

Also, if they don't work for you, Eddie Bauer stores offer free returns in their stores. No time limit on the returns, either.

Good luck!

Our mall has a store called Water, Water, Everywhere - or something like that.

But I agree with the other posters -- I'd definitely try www.landsend.com -- you can't go wrong with any of their stuff! Love their outerwear, kids boots and embroidered, personalized Christmas stockings for $17.50 each. :santa: In fact, we just bought their needlepoint pet stocking to match our family stockings. :rotfl2:

Same problem - cruise next month. There are a bunch of Land's End swimsuits on sale on their site. If you order at a Sears store, the shipping is free. Then you can just return what you don't like at the store as well.

I don't know about that....

I live up in the great white north and it spends time at 40 below every year, but I swim year-round.

When you get far enough north all of the good pools are indoors anyway, so, the outdoor temperature doesn't matter.

If you do get to ordering online, I like llbean. They provide more sizing information for bathing suits than other clothing allowing you to adjust properly. (I've never purchased two suits that were the same size from different companies, and I never seem to fit the same size in clothing and bathing suits even when it is the same manufacturer.)

I know plenty of places in(and around) Disney sells them.
Theres a place up here that sells swimwear year-round, called "everything but water"
Thier prices are quite high though.

I would say everything but water. Or you can try your local department store and look on the clearance racks.

To the OP - I'm not sure how far you are from the Westchester Mall in NY (being from Northern NJ) but they have an "Everything but Water" store there. It's upstairs near the Neiman Marcus store.

My local target has swim suits out year round so you might want to give yours a look.

Before a few month i was really upset for getting a cute silk swim suit. I have search out at city market and at many other side but i not found my desirable than i have check out at swim suits online sale and i am really happy i got 2 swim suits from there.

Another vote for Lands End....I just ordered over $300 of swim suits...hoping one will fit and I will return the rest to Sears. Their swim suits are great and they last!

Even here in Florida the department stores clearance out the swimsuits to make room for fall and winter clothes, We will put out next years suits in Jan/Feb. It is also hard to find beach towels in department stores and in some, the sun screen products are shipped back after the summer season to make room for product that won't be out of date for the spring/summer season.
Surf shops have suits all year and the tourist souvenier shops at the beach like Ron jons have suits all year . Try Sports Authority in Orlando. They carry clothes for all the sports so may have some suits year round.
