I have a friend visiting us at the resort while were there and she wants to have a magic band. Do the company’s like Maple leaf and undercover send you the bands? Or do you only get them onsite?
Thanks

MagicBands are provided free of charge to those with a Disney Resort Reservation and Annual Passholders. Day guests can optionally purchase a MagicBand (prices start at $12.95 plus tax) if they wish.

The ticket is separate from the Magic Band. Tickets are linked to an MDE account and the bands are just a "key" that unlocks what's in that account (tickets, FP+, ADR, Resort, etc).

Buying a ticket doesn't get you a Magic Band, only an annual pass or a Disney resort reservation will do that.

If you're on a room only reservation at a Disney resort and you won't be exceeding room capacity, you can put her on your resort reservation and she will also get a magic band. You don't want to do this if you are on a package because then she will have to get the rest of the package as well.

Guests who do not have an annual pass or Disney resort reservation will need to purchase a Magic Band. They can be purchased at WDW or online via the Disney Store.

There is an extra charge for more than 2 adults in a room, so it would probably be cheaper to buy a magic band separately.

Thank you, that has answered all my questions. What would I do without my DIS people

Guests who do not have an annual pass or Disney resort reservation will need to purchase a Magic Band. They can be purchased at WDW or online via the Disney Store.

Guests without those things AND who want a MB will have to buy them. But MBs are by no means required. Strictly a "want "thing.

Since I didn't see it mentioned.
You should BUY your friends ticket well before your trip.

Guests not staying at a WDW resort, but who DO have tickets,
can make advanced FP+ reservations as early as 30 days before their first day in a theme park.
BUT- if you connect your friend to your MDE account, you can make advance FP+
for her at 60+ days in advance (just like yours.)

MagicBands are not required to make advanced FP+ reservations or to use FP+.

If a MagicBand is purchased (either at WDW or on-line in advance from disneystore.com)
that new MB can be used at the park for these advance-booked FP+.
